    I free ball it.

    I wear lycra-ish capris to prevent chub rub and haven't had any problems

    If you're a guy, wear an athletic supporter. Here's why.

    A guy I used to work with had a slow onset of pain in his midsection. It gradually increased from "ouch, that's strange" to "OMIGOD THAT HURTS I'M GOING TO THE DR BEFORE I DIE!!!!!!" over a few weeks.

    His dr told him to start running with a jock strap. Running without one had strained the connective tissues that keep the testicles attached and their backups, deep in the abdomen, had to share the job and the pain came from them protesting "ya know, I wasn't designed for this"

    i wear spandex shorts that go down past where my thighs rub together and I dont wear underwear. just gets in the way.

    A guy's answer:

    Compression shorts. I really like the longer Heat Gear ones from Under Armor, but I struggle to justify spending $30 on a pair of them. I've had the Eastbay equivalents, they're not bad. Bought similar items from Road Runner Sports just recently and hate them. Don't know why, just don't like them.

    all my running shorts have compression briefs built in. love 'em

    Mine have built in regular briefs. Brooks Sherpa for example.

    In the winter, I wear synthetic compression briefs under warmer clothes.

    Tried commando, my lady biz kept thinking it was "go time". Such a distraction. Cotton bikinis work for me.

    I wear Craft which has an inner brief. I also have a pair of Nike with inner brief as well.
