I get the American Pie one but not the graduate

What's funny is I have seen neither of those movies and still know what she is talking about!!

Sadly, I think that they would probably infer that you were asking if they were still in school.

You would have to assume that said "boy" is into classic films, as that movie came out in 1967. American Pie references would be more appropriate for that age group. Unless of course you are looking for a lover of classic movies.

wait - we are forgetting that ~i~ am 39 and i don't get the american pie reference.

but i'm going to go ahead and just say that the graduate is way cooler than american pie. (and if either reference was simply lost in convo, oh well.)

For the record, The Graduate is 1,000 times the movie American Pie is. Those who haven't heard of or seen it, you really should.

so you are a boy under the age of 30 and a girl, say, oh, 39~ish (hint, hint - someone like me) walks up to you and asks you the question:
"have you seen the movie the graduate?"

Would you infer anything from that?

I'm 32 and I would think you wanted to do sex to my face.

No I'm not. I just don't get into old school movies which were popular while I was being a kid and doing outside ****.

Plus, that's name calling and it's offensive. I should report you.

I think it'd go right over his head...

I like the American Pie reference, if he doesn't get that either, then would you really want to be with someone that clueless? Well I guess if you don't mind him not talking....

I think I'd actually PREFER it if he wasn't talking....

^^ This. Most of the cute ones are MUCH better if they just don't talk.

I doubt most dudes under 30 would get the reference. However, the Graduate is a GREAT movie! Although I'd pick Katharine Ross over Anne Bancroft every time....
