Is there a good way to ask a girl out at a gas station?

Is there a "right" way to approach a girl at a gas station? I don't mean someone going inside to pay, say she pulls up, credit card, pumps and will be leaving.
I'm thinking.... probably not, because even if the hottest girl walked up to me while I was putting gas in my car it would feel strange.
What do you think ladies? Have you ever given your number to a guy while putting gas in your car? What was his approach?

Next time tell her: Eat with me and get gas!
That might work!0 -

Ive had a guy come up to me while i was pumping gas...
Asked my name.
If I was from around the area.
What were my plans for the weekend.
Asked for my number.
I like straight forward and confident.0 -
Sorry but I'd be a little creeped out.0
-
IMO - id finish pumping the gas and want to get the heck out of there ASAP.0

'i really like the way you handle that pump....'0

"Hey, is it cool if I fill your tank"?0

You would have to be really smooth. Maybe comment on her car so it doesn't look too creepy, or ask for directions, something along those lines, then walk away and come back in a minute or so and ask her out.0

A guy approached me at a gas station once. He opened the conversation by asking me for a tire pressure gauge. We swapped casual, cool stories about getting flat tires on the highway. Didn't work out, but he did ask for my number... and got it.0

Sure you could, if you're not creepy or use a cheesy line. Smile, chat, and if she goes to leave, don't follow her! lol0

I'm always kind of aware of my surroundings at a gas station and if approached by a strange male I'd probably be frightened more than approachable. I don't think I'd be very open to giving out my number even if the guy was attractive.0

You need to show off how well you can handle your hose....0

I think it would be cute. I would (if I was younger of course) probably give you my number if you asked for it, because it would show that you are confident and that you are not afraid ot feeling weird, which is ironic, because you obviously are, haha.
I would just say, "You know, I was just thinking, that if I saw you in some other circumstance, like at a bar or work or something, I would ask you out. But because this is a gas station, I'm thinking it's a little out of the ordinary, but I didn't want to miss this chance, so I figured I have nothing to lose but my dignity and who cares about that, right? So, do you want to go for a drink sometime?"0 -
I don’t see the difference really if you ask someone out at the bar, grocery store or gas station. I say go for it. I been asked out at the grocery store. It was random… but I didn’t mind it. He was VERY cool.0

This. I am single and if an attractive man did this, or even just gave me his card, I'd be game. And flattered!0 -
I honestly would feel extremely creeped out and uncomfortable.0

wow. even I never get *THIS* bored...0

Hey darlin....could you hold my nozzle for a minute??0

I'd sooner go out with a guy I met at a gas station than a guy I met at a bar, that's for sure.0
-
I got gas, wanna bump uglies?0
-
I got the gas if you got the *kitten*
My other hose is bigger
You seem to have a good grip for big things0 -
I'd be flattered. But I wouldn't like him to seem to cocky, a little nervous would be endearing. Whoever said ask a general question and then come back....I like that. It's like you were genuinely just looking for the time or whatever but since this girl was SO amazing you had to go back and ask for her number. Love it.
I have an engagement ring on though, so it's not likely to happen  pity!0 -
I was never a fan of getting asked out when the person didn't know at least something about me. If someone approached me at a gas station, all they would really know is what I looked like and what I drive. How do you know you WANT to ask her out? She could be a nutter.
Edited to add: duh - the point of asking her out is to get to know more. Crap, I have been out of the dating scene for too long. Ha!0 -
I met a guy at the gas station this past Sunday.. Today is Wednesday and he thinks I'm his girlfriend already
Point of my story: Leave the creeps at the gas station!!0 -
nope, no right way.
anytime I get approached at a gas station I assume they're going to ask for change, so I'm already on my guard... kinda tough to start a friendly conversation.0 -
I think doing the rodeo a la Happy Gilmore would moisten any chick and get you the results you seek \m/
you're welcome0 -

An engagement ring is not a wedding ring. It just makes it all a little more challenging.0 -
"Let me PUMP that for you..."
/shrug0 -
I would love to have a guy approach me and ask me out, in any settings. But, alas, I'm not the girl that gets approached.0
