And they thought that tracking their calories was just "too time consuming"?

It's like could you be any lazier?0 -
If you have a smart phone, its ridiculously easy.0
-
yes all the time...I always get the comment "aren't you sick of tracking calories?" or thats so time consuming!0
-
I'm sorry, but tracking calories is so much easier than sitting there all day feeling bad because you dont know if you ate too much, or looking up every food you ate on the internet and adding it up yourself.0

I have recommended this to many people. I use my IPhone usually but thought I would look online. A lot of interaction. I love it. It keeps me on track.. You get out of things what you put into it.0

20 seconds i will never get back and reap the benefits of by losing fat. horrible.0 -
Unless you have dial-up, then there's really no easier way to track calories than MFP. Even Weight Watchers calculations are far more time consuming! In the time it took my grandma to calculate and write out all her points, I could have logged into MFP three times and done my food journal, because my favorites are stored.0

Yes not friends but my kids. I have 5 of them and they all could stand to lose a few pounds. I only have one son that refuses to track calories he says he does not have the time to enter all of the stuff that he eats so I just do it for him. I think it is good that they know what they are eating. My youngest son got a rude awakening monday night when he tracked his calories for the first time he had no idea that he had eaten over 4000 calories in one day!!!!0

I think the true issue is that they just don't want to be accountable for keeping track of everything they actually ate. It's an excuse.0

I've been told it's "obsessive"...0

It drives me nuts when I get asked how I am losing the weight and I tell them, then they all get excited and join. Just to have them either not use the site or only use it for 3 day and give up. Then they all upset because they are still the same size.0

I recommended MFP to someone on the day I joined last Dec. After 5 days, he decided he knew what and how to eat so he declared he didn't need the app anymore. He stopped going to the gym a week later. He's gotten increasingly out of shape but still believes he has a handle on his health and nutrition. Whatev.0

I have become "pushy" with my Sister to log and a friend. They don't seem to be on the same wagon I am on right now. They might smack me soon0

Yup, few people actually.0

^^^^^^ THIS is so true!! They want the results, but don't want to put in the work.0 -
I got my boyfriend to join. I generally sign on and log his info though b/c I make every meal he eats so I know what is in there and how much is.
I also tired to get a few friends and family members but they joined then never did anything. It sucks, since I like the site so much and it has helped me a lot already.0 -
YES! ANd it's SO frustrating b/c they claim they really need/want to lose weight and have joined but just "can't remember" to log, although I know they're online almost all day. I actually deleted them (including a relative) from my friend's list b/c they were not even kinda committed. That sounds mean but I am tired of hearing about how "you can eat whatever you want and not gain an ounce" but it's b/c I workout and eat fairly healthy.0

To everyone who thinks they're able to track calories acurate in their head and know exactly how many calories there are in everything they put in their mouth! It's amazing...and then they wonder why they're not losing any weight!0
-
Yes Ive had one or two of my friends say that but I cant say anything when my parents recommended the site to me I said the same thing for about a week and then caved to curiousity and havent looked back since! You have to be ready to make this change otherwise it doesnt work. I cant imagine ever going back now I only see myself going forward but I had to have the AHA moment and my friends I know arent there yet. They will be and when they are Ill be signing them up.0

Everyone I've recommended MFP to says the same thing: Keeping track of what they eat each day is too time consuming. My own husband, who really needs to lose weight for health reasons, refuses to join MFP for that very reason, however, he spends hours playing solitaire on the computer. My thought on those who find it to be too much of a chore to log daily food consumption is that they're not really serious about wanting to lose weight. Once you get serious, you will do ANYTHING necessary to bring down the pounds in a healthy manner. That's what I did!0

I have told only 2 people that I am on this site.(and only when I knew they wouldn't join) I like it that I am not friends with any of my "real life" friends on here. I don't know if anyone else feels that way, but that's me!0
-
I have recommended this to my Mum, brother, daughter, son in law and 2 friends and apart from my brother they have all joined and can see it makes a difference....0
-
HAHAHA! When my bf cooks I'm always asking him, what did you put it in? What's the name? How much did you put in, etc.... He has learned to leave the stuff out so I can scan the bottle or container it was in, LOL.0

AMEN..0 -
Yes and I have only one friend that has actually signed up.0
-
What tickles me is when people say they don't eat a lot or they eat "healthy," but have never even tracked their normal diet for a day.0
