Here is how I make them. Delicious!

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.
Clean the mushroom and spray with cooking spray and sprinkle with salt and pepper . Place on a piece of tin foil or small baking sheet and bake for about 6 minutes.

Take the mushroom out of the oven and add the sauce, cheese, and whatever toppings you choose.
Return the pizza mushroom to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese begins to bubble on the top.

LOVE portabella pizzas they are soooooo good! Wipe off with a damp cloth..do NOT rinse with water..scrape out the gills..

spray mushroom on both sides with a bit of olive oil spray and bake for a few minutes... take out..fill with sauce, cheese, and whatever toppings you like.. place back into oven and bake until cheese is bubbly... you could also broil for a few minutes in the end too...very good, very filling, and best of all guilt free.

Even better..when it's nice out..make portabella pizza on grill...same way..
  • Hi! Yes i did this a couple weeks back for the first time and it turned out delicious! Use a spoon to scrape out the cap add sauce, toppings and cheese pop it in the oven at about 350 for 10 min or so and it is ssooo good.

I did this the other night! Mine were simple, just sauce and cheese. I didn't do anything special...just spooned the sauce over, then sprinkled the cheese on. I cooked until cheese was melted and beginning to brown, took them out before the mushrooms lost too much of their bulk. I just put the pizza in the oven raw, with the toppings, and it was deliciously cooked when I took them out.

Edit: also, I didn't scrape out the cap. I usually do when working with portobellos, but I didn't want the mess that night that scraping usually leaves me. They turned out fine, so it probably won't matter if you do it or not.
  • Yummy...that sounds delish.
