The first sad song that comes to my mind is an old song by Joan Osbourne, called Crazy Baby. I used to love that song and it could make me cry. I have not heard it in many years. Going to youtube it now though!

    "Black"--Pearl Jam

Never would've thought of that one but that is a good sad song.

    Last Kiss by Pearl Jam
The Lighthouse's Tale by Nickel Creek (gets me every time)
Practically anything by Radiohead puts me in a subdued/melancholy/down mood.. but its soo good

    "Memory" from the musical CATS
"In the Wee Small Hours Of The Morning" Frank Sinatra
"Let Me Fall" I believe this is by Josh Groban but I found it on a Cirque du Soleil soundtrack
"Thank God I'm Pretty" Emilie Autumn. Not really a sad song, more ironic, but the message of 'women are valued by their looks and often hurt because of it' is sad.
    "Asleep" The Smiths
"No One Knows Who I Am" Jekyll & Hyde: The Musical
"The End Of Heartache" Killswitch Engage
"Empty Chairs At Empty Tables" and "I Dreamed A Dream" from Les Miserables
"I Didn't Know I'd Love You So Much" Repo! The Genetic Opera
"Who Will Love Me As I Am?" Side Show: The Musical
    "Show Me The Way" Styx

I Won't by Keri Noble, lyrics are too personal
    Lots of Eva Cassidy songs.
    Maybe by Kelly Clarkson
You Don't Know Me by lots of artists

Baby Mine from Dumbo makes my hubby cry buckets

Someone Like You by Adele makes both myself and hubby now laugh because I told him that song makes every one cry. We've been together since high school so we can't truly get it.

  • Sometimes I feel like a motherless child. If I sing this in the car while I am sad, I find I can immediately sing a happy song.
I read that a sad song validates your mood. One time a group I was with, each named their sad song -- Much to my surprise
everyone had a sad song...and everyone was a different song. Just realized while my mother was ill for 1-1/2 years I was in
two foster homes..No wonder this song has meaning to me. (Just realized that.)
