How Far Have You Come?

Since May 2011 I've lost 4" from my bust, 5 1/2" from my waist and 4 1/4" from my hips. On May 3rd, 2011 (it just happens to be exactly one year ago today that I started going to the gym!) I weighed 162.0 lbs, and on Monday I weighed 136.7 lbs for a total of 25 lbs lost! It has taken me a long time, but I only started getting really serious about the weight loss in January.0

Jan 2010 to Jan 2012 - 45 lbs
Now I'm down about 36 lbs.
I would like to lose another 15 -20 lbs. I still have a ways to go. I started lifting a few months ago in hope that I would start slim down even more. I'm getting stronger but haven't lost a lot of inches.0 -
From St Patricks Day of this year I have lost 28 lbs.
Lifestyle change, bit of gym, better choices and addressing the issues behind my eating.
WOW - what are you doing that you've lost 28 lbs ince March?0 -

I have always had a really fast metabolism, I just went a bit mental with my eating and put on FIFTY lbs in two years.
Like I could eat out or have fast food four times a week, lots of bad snacks, not having breakfast, lots of coca cola, the works.
So if just cut all that down, I still have a pizza at the weekend, I still have a bit of chocolate , but I eat really well now.
Drinking lottttts of water, hitting the gym three times a week. I cant believe it myself how quickly its falling off me but the little changes I have made have really made a difference to me. I lost about 16 lbs in the first month!0 -
This time last year I weighed between 175-189. I was not happy with that weight but got used to it so I got into that "who cares?" mentality. Then I moved away from home and my desk job turned into a work at home in sweatpants job. I kept gaining and gaining until I realized that moderation wasn't going to put a dent into what I needed to lose. I started MFP after I hit my highest weight of 216.6 on Feb 20th 2012.
So now I am down 24.2 pounds and almost at the weight I was the month I moved out of state. I usually get lazy at around the 175 mark. This time I am NOT...I repeat NOT stopping. I killed the binging habit and tested myself at a casino last week. I managed not to fall off the wagon. The person who used to drink herself sloppy and eat all manner of fatty awful has now got it under control. That is actually what I am most proud of at the moment. My final goal is 125, but I am going to be elated when I hit 169 because, well, I havent been that small since my very young 20s.0 -

Wow good luck with it! It will be so worth it! I just got into the 160s and it was the best feeling ever!0 -

Wow that's awesome. I've never been able to take off weight that fast. I drink a ton of water a day. I go to the gym about 5 times a week and some of those days I get about 90 min in weights/cardio. I just seem to be at a stand still right now.0 -

Thank you! I'm proud of myself so far, it took a long time to get the willpower and strength to do something about it. My weight gain was like an elephant in the room, literally ha.
I'm sure you're doing all the right things, as you get smaller it gets really hard to drop the weight you did with ease at first. Im only losing about a lb a week now0 -

I am soooo looking forward to it. is the difference between 170-160 more noticable than 180-170? Maybe this is a silly question, but since I havent seen that range in years, I would love to hear your experience so far.0 -

I have just hit the 160s...., 168 to be precise and feels AMAZING. I know it is just a number but I feel so much more confident already. Today I wore something that I wouldnt have wore until now because I felt that people would say 'she doesnt have the figure for that'... I usually just wore black.
Now I am getting EXCITED to go shopping, and find nice clothes, and not go into a shop and dread what size I will be able to squeeze into in this shop.
Ah you will be so delighted when you get here. I still have a bit of a way to go, but the journey is enjoyable, full of little victories.
I cant pinpoint the physical difference between 178 and 168, but the mental difference is amazing.0 -
Since 1-6-12:
I've gone from eating every sample at Costco to just the ones I really want.
I've gone from thinking logging calories wouldn't matter to logging everything.
I've gone from never exercising to working out 6x's a week.
I've gone from eating til it makes me sick to weighing my portions out.
I've gone from being even higher than my last pregnancy to below my pre-pregnancy weight.
I've gone from being unable to do 30ds without lots of breaks to virtually no breaks needed.
I've gone from no muscle definition to biceps I can see when not flexing.
I've gone from thinking maybe I can do this to actually believing it.
Oh yeah. And I've gone from 177lbs to 153. More to go!0 -

I've come *half way* (: since the 1st of February this year I've lost 15 of the 30 that I want to lose. Can't wait until the remaining half is gone!!! :happy:0

I have lost 42lb since 4th Jan!
Cant believe how far I have come x0 -
Since Jan 15, 2011, I've removed 93lbs... Was 335lbs, now I'm 242.. Did it the good old fashion way.. Ate less and moved more..0

I'm down 25-27 lbs depending on if my weigh in is in the a.m. or p.m. I've gone from being a fat vegetarian to a slightly overweight vegan. I have a long way to go still, but I'm ALMOST 1/2 way there. I feel healthier, I sleep better, I have less food "issues" and although I miss cheese so much, it's not so much that I want to go back to my bad habits and emotional eating. I started this time mid January and I finally feel like I am serious and dedicated. SO excited to get back to being skinny... I think the hardest part is just the wait! Eat right, exercise and patiently wait while all the nasty fat disolves off my body.0

I had lost 110 lbs. After I had our second son, I noticed that I began to fall off track. My husband kind of did, too (lol). I stepped on the scale on March 11th of this year, before going shopping with my sisters... and I saw that I had gained so much weight, I was only at -54 lbs. That was the day I opened my eyes again. I'm back up to -73 with lots of goals in sight. I won't ever give up on myself again.0

I have gotten both my bloodpressure and blood sugar under control with diet and exercise. Jan 2010 BP = 151/115; Apr 2012 BP = 120/74. Jan 2010 Fasting BS = 127; Apr 2012 Fasting BS = 90!!!!
I have lost 89.8 lbs. Jan 2011 SW = 327.6; Apr 2012 = 237.8. I've gone from a size 26W/28W pants, 4X shirts & size 10 shoes to 16W/18W pants, 1X or 2X shirts & size 9.5 shoes.
I have given myself a gift of stamina, love of exercise, better cholesterol levels (though they weren't bad when I was heavier, but better now), the ability to walk/run/jump.
I did a round of p90x in Oct 2011.
I did my first 5k (walking only) in Nov 2011 with a finishing time of 46 minutes.
I'm on my way to being a better version of me and I'm only halfway there! GW of 147 lbs.

That is awesome and you should be incredibly proud of yourself!!! Me, I stepped on my scale 9 months ago, disgusted and then determined. Day by day, focus, focus, focus...and yesterday my scale told me I am 49 lbs lighter.0

This thread is so full of win, great job, everyone!
Since April 27, 2011, I have lost 68.2 pounds and gone from a tight size 16 to a loose size 4. MFP changed. my. life.0 -
I've come nearly halfway :-)
Measurements wise -
I've dropped an inch from my bra band
Two inches from my waist
Three inches from my belly fat
Five inches from my hips
Three inches from each thigh
I've lost just shy of 25 five pounds, and I've stopped snacking, night eating, and so much more.0 -
I started walking on Christmas Eve 2011. I joined MFP Jan 11, 2012. I have lost 33lbs since then, NINE inches off my belly, dropped from a size 16 to a 10. I still have 30lbs to go but I'm walking 1,000 miles for St. Judes this year and I'm up to nearly 400 so far! I walk a minimum of 2 miles a day and try for more, sometimes getting in 7. I started C25K this week and love it so far. I am signed up to do the Susan Komen race and going to do 5K in Sept. I'm also taking water aerobics classes twice a week, which now feel like relaxing compared to my other workouts!
I can sit on the toilet lid without having it sink in, I have tons of energy, so much in fact, my kids think I now have ADD. lol
I tried on all of my old, too small clothes and they are ALL too big on me. That kind of makes me sad because I love, love trying on stuff that hadnt fit. Now I get to try on new clothes.
I don't look pregnant anymore! That is the best part because that really annoyed me. I'm 50 years old, have grandkids and didn't want to look pregnant! I look young for my age and my husband looks older than his age so it made me feel weird when people stared at me.
Now that I've lost the weight, I look even younger and I just let the people who stare think that I have a sugar daddy. I couldn't love him anymore than I do!
I push mow the yard and according to my pedometer/gps, it's a mile of mowing!
My dog has lost 26lbs since I started walking.
My husband has lost 25 since he started walking/eating right too.
I could go on and on! It's all good!0 -
On January 27, 2011, I started on MFP. I have learned sooooo much about myself, about fitness, and about nutrition. I have gone from couch potato to supermom (or at least I feel like it some days). I found out that I love to run (I also love to power walk, and I can walk 4.5-5mph which is some folks jogging speed). I love lifting heavy things and putting them back down again. I love the gym (wtf?). I am learning to love my body!
I went from 217 lbs (15 1/2 stone)
to 119 lbs (8 1/2 stone)
I found my guns, and now I'm looking for my six-pack!
And I have gained some really fantastic Pals along the way!0 -
90 pounds
from a 24/26W to a 7/8
from sedentary to half marathons
from struggling with groceries to lifting 70 lbs (once)
from getting winded on stairs to falling in love with the leg press
from gymtimidated to gymtimate
lolol
also- sex in the dark maybe once every few months if it was just the standard stuff and over quickly... to .... not that.
this!! Well done!0 -
16 pounds since February 27th0
-
I started in November 2011 at 205 on mfp and am down to 174. It really has to be a lifestyle change! I am only losing about 4-5 lbs a month but am feeling sooooo good and healthy now. I am also doing the couch to 5 k program which is really getting me motivated to be fit!! I want to be like THIS for the rest of my life0
-
Amazing. Great job0
