Ok, this is fun, but it has it's flaws. My goal weight is 215, which according to this simulation is still 25.4% body fat. I find that hard to believe. When I was in The Marines I was 203 and that was ~11% body fat. I know that for a fact as I was both hydrostatically weighed, as well as had my measurements taken by calipers. Now I'll admit, I've put on some weight and I'm sure that my muscle mass is not what it used to be. However, according to this calculator I would need to weight 148 to be 11.4% body fat. That would be impossible for my frame, at 6'1".

    Something is wonky.

Very cute. I'm maintaining weight right now and the calculations seem spot on. I'm on 'maintenance' on MFP and I'm still loosing weight (netting 1650).

Why? 2000 cals a day is the recommended intake on most nutritional info.

Interesting-it tells me that by eating over 2000 calories I can lose ten pounds in three months. I have been eating 1600-1800 for the past six months and only lost two pounds......HA! Maybe there IS something to the "eat more calories to lose weight" idea.

Agreed. My current body fat is 20%, but this states I'm 34% - haven't been 34% in my life, even when I was 16kgs heavier. Still a useful tool for those who are focused on just weight loss.
