Here's a fun easy topic for a Monday! What is your favorite place to buy coffee?

McDonald's 99 cent-er?
Starbucks Specialties?
Thorton's 89 cents!?!?!

I was hooked on McDonald's for the longest time but now I find myself shifting back to Starbucks...blonde roast, lot's of cream one sugar :drinker:

There is a tiny coffee truck right outside my office that puts Starbuck's to shame. And it's about one quarter of the price!

Thornton's used to have good coffee, but now it stinks b/c they got rid of their larger size.

Somehow over the past couple of years, I have become a super coffee snob, so my choices are the following order of preference:
    1. Local indie coffee shop that serves beans roasted less than 1 week ago
    2. Peets or Local coffee shop with lower quality beans than #1, but excellent preparation technique
    15. Starbucks (if there is no other option or I want a sugary coffee drink and Peet's isn't available)
    50. 7-11, McDs, BK, Gas Station, Fast Food Places if I am absolutely desperate for caffeine

Indie Coffee Snob Cafe > Peets > Starbucks for barrista skill level (and latte art)

The other thing about option 1: The coffee tastes so different, I can forgo sugar in espresso drinks: lattes, cappuccino, and gibraltars. At starbucks, I can't because the coffee is too bitter.

We buy flavored roasts at the market, grind them and brew at home. Saves a ton of money. I love the chocolate flavored ones... ;)

I brew my own, and we buy Kivu Caramel Swirl. Though the Costa Rica blend is yummo too! I add 2 TB of creamer (either sugar free vanilla caramel or low fat vanilla bliss) and sometimes a squirt of Torani White Chocolate. If I am feeling coffee house creative I get the Readi whip & s/f Caramel sauce & ice it up. Better than Starbucks! :drinker:

    Chocolate Caramel is my favorite.

But at work we have Jan's Java. A small independent coffee keos that puts Starbucks to shame.

I prefer indie coffee shops but I get a lot of Starbucks because they are everywhere and they give me a discount (free soy/syrups plus free drink every 15 purchases) because I have a black card.

Tully's. Don't tell, I'lll be kicked out of the PNW.

Only someone who's truly from the PNW knows that Tully's is the superior coffee!

As I have reloacted to the South, I've had to find a more local flavor. Little Lady Coffee and Paneara's Hazelnut coffee here!

I prefer to make my coffee at my house, it seems to always taste better and I can better custom it to how I'd like it

On a quick day I grab a Dunkin Donuts. If I have a little extra time I go for a Cumberland Farms (You make it yourself and it's only 99 cents). On a cheat day, I grab a Honey Dew Mocha Madness iced coffee yummmmmmmmm

But if I can, I have coffee at home, which is maybe 2 times a week. I worked at a coffee shop for 7 years, so I can make a mean cup'o'joe

Stop spending oodles of money on coffee. Dear god, it adds up quicker than you think. Invest in a Keurig. Set yourself a target price for K cups. My goal is 60 cents or less a cup. The average is 90 cents or more per cup. I have succeeded getting in the 47 cents a cup range. Keep 2 or 3 flavored creamers on hand. The possibilities are endless. Each cup is fresh and hot (or cold if you wanna do iced coffee like I do). And you know exactly what's going in it.

For a long time I used Boca Java. Liked their "Light Up Los Olas" the best. After they were sold (and bought) the coffee was similar in quality but we decided it was more expensive than we wanted to continue to spend, so after 8 years, we dropped them.

I brew Starbucks at home and at the office. Grind my own at home and have to have the coffee ground for the office coffee group. "Tribute" is my favorite (a limited release coffee). I like Italian and Cafe Verona. Pike is a nice alternative and what we generally use at the office.

There are also a couple of local coffee suppliers/roasters that are quite good.

Large cups, two tsp sugar w/ H&H. My sugar use has gone down.

Life is too short for bad coffee.

At home, I love Van Houtte's coffee. I usually have either the chocolate or butterscotch flavored variety.

Coffee while out is always Starbucks... Grande Skinny Caramel Macchiato :D

Coffeeshop coffee is foul and I don't know how folks drink it, especially at the ridiculous temperature it's served not to mention the extortionate prices they charge in Starbucks, Nerro, Costa and the like. Then again, I only drink black coffee.

When I moved back to the UK, I found it strange that I have to ask for a black coffee otherwise it's presumed to be white.

I love the Nespresso coffee we have in our London office:love::tongue: , but sadly we don't have a Nespresso machine in our Birmingham office :frown:

Otherwise, I just drink instant. We do have a filter coffee machine at home, but I'm too lazy nowadays! I used to drink pots of fresh coffee when I lived in the Netherlands.

Dunkin Donuts! But they don't have any near me since we moved :( Now I use on of the single cup brewers at home and I am in love. Starbucks is to dark and bitter for my taste.
