this needs something....
Options
Ok, so I made this dish the other day, but it needs something:
Sautee 1/4 a cup of onions.
Add one small potato, cut into 1 cubic cm pieces (about the size of a dice, little smaller)
Stir in some carrots and corn
A dash of paprika
Stir until onions are clear and sweet.
Then I lowered the heat and covered it for about 10 minutes.
I added some stew meat, but that didn't take.
This is missing something, it's too bland. Any suggestions? I thought perhaps bell peppers or some grilled round steak cut into strips.

garlic.
salt
spices/herbs of any kind.
veggies plus meat only is going to be bland, it needs some or all of the above.0 -
I would add salt. If it's out of the question for you, garlic and rep pepper flakes would be nice. The heat can do a lot for the missing salt.0

Yup. Salt -- it isn't evil. Also, lots of garlic.
Pepper maybe. Might check out johnny's seasoning.0 -
A splash of wine?
Yeh, that's pretty much my solution to everything.0 -
I would probably add some tomatoes0

A pinch of chilli...0

Definitely garlic and pepper (either black pepper or cayenne). Those two things go in just about everything I cook.0

Lawry's seasoning salt, yum0

Italian Seasoning is my go-to. I love the stuff. Recently found the kind you can grind (kinda like sea salt or pepper), and love that so much more. Likely would be awesome in it.0

A little celery and black pepper, and it'd be real close to country style potato soup...YUM!0

I'd try adding coarsely chopping fresh rosemary. That's it. Keep it simple.0

I agree, maybe diced red peppers yum! You could also crumble some turkey bacon in it.:happy:0

Garlic.. It's my secret ingredient to everything and it's good for you too. Try a few minced cloves of garlic to bring out the flavor.0

a little bit of corizo, and a scrambled egg0

Try green peppers as well. A bit of egg would hold things together nicely. Maybe add a bit more onion and keep them in larger slices to get more flavor from them. Add salt, pepper, a decent amount of paprika and cayenne pepper. Measure out a small dash of Kikkoman stir fry sauce-just enough to lightly coat everything and WUZZAM. Veggie stir fry.0
