Just playing around I've got the Advanced.. 30 more pounds, I'm in the Elite group.. Challenge Accepted!0
-
Can't get the format right?0
-
Doesn't account for height; makes me weak0
-
I'm in-between the weights of 148 & 165 and can't see myself bench pressing 75-80 lbs unless it's a machine LOL0
-
Wow Ron....What if you are old like ME !!!0
-
Cool. 50 more pounds and I'm advanced. Now does count as just one rep or what?0

140 pounds! My sternum would crack in half! The chart doesn't specify the body composition on the weight scale (y-axis).0

ME TOO... AND I DON'T THINK I COULD EITHER :sad:0 -
So small guys have to bench twice their bodyweight, but the rest of us can slack and still be elite?
That's sweet.0 -
Hmm according to that saturday I'll be lifting novice level for my weight (female 165).0

I was mostly teasing. My interpretation was always 1.5x body weight was considered advanced, 2x bw = elite.
By the way.. 395 is an impressive bench imo.0 -
Woo hoo! In my prime i was 5# away from elite! Right now i would be happy to hit intermediate.0
-
This confirm it, I suck0

How's everyone's batting average measuring up?

Woo!!0 -
I was between advance and elite when I was in the weight room. Oh I can't wait til August to be back in there!0
-
I figured. I was too. I wish I could get anywhere near 395. I'm stuck below 330So small guys have to bench twice their bodyweight, but the rest of us can slack and still be elite?

Advanced on a good day! Hopefully elite sometime within a year.0
-
My husband and I were just talking about this during dinner! Are you supposed to count the weight of the bar too or just the plates?0
-
Add the bar, which is usually 45 lbs by itself.0
-
Is this supposed to be 1RM? No conclusion.0
-
This doesn't take into consideration the age of the participants. Obviously if a teen and a senior weighed the same, there would be a difference in strength.

I'm elite!
for a female.
haha. Advanced only. But I'm inbetween the two weight classes0 -
Is this supposed to be 1RM? No conclusion.
Per the site, "The performance standards are adult standards (>18 years old) for a single maximal repetition (1RM) based on competitive weightlifter and powerlifting classification systems in use from the 1950's to present."0 -
Well if this is for 1 rep in an about to brain hemorage state I'm in the advanced zone, haha.. Don't think I could ever get elite although it is a good goal to shoot for I guess. I've been thinking about changing up my bench stance a bit to try and get more power...0
-
Woo! Currently intermediate, but hopefully from Monday I will be advanced (shooting for new 1RM then)0
