    198.5 today.
Working shift work, midnight shift spec. really screws up your body clock.

Going to try and start 50-30-20 (P/C/F). Trying to get my 1g/1lb of protein in daily.

    Rant.
Well my OH had a scale that we have been using, I also had a scale I bought previously and wasn't being used, but since the other one has stopped working more often, I brought my scale up to the bathroom.
So for giggles, I thought I would jump on both to see any difference.
Scales were ~ 4 lbs different.
Ok, no big deal, as long as they were always 4 lbs different.

After I woke up, etc, I tried weighing again. Scales were lower, but also with in 1/2 lb of each other.

    Go figure.

How was everyones weekend? my food choices weren't that great, a lot of going out for food but I did manage to walk/run yesterday. weighed in 162 this morning.

One of the things the wife and I do is to cook meals that serve 4. Before we even begin to put food on our plates, we package up 2 servings of the food in plastic containers for the next day's lunch. That way we are limiting our portions and we have tomorrow's lunch figured out and ready to go.

We also keep several boxes of lower calorie (lean cuisine, weight watchers, kashi, etc.) frozen lunches in the freezer for days when we don't want leftovers.

This weekend was off track for me - entertaining guests gets me off very quickly. This week I am looking to just get diligent with tracking ALL of my food. Also, I have found that when I keep my breakfasts, lunches, and snacks relatively the same each day, I am more successful. I can then mix up my choices at dinner and more easily stay in my calorie range. Hope you all have a great week!

Can I still join I really need something to get me moving down the scale. I hope I'm not too late. My name is Olga and my start weight is 169-173# (havent really weighed myself in a couple of weeks). My goal weight is 120#, I might not be able to reach that by 1/1/10, but I'll take whatever comes. My hobbies are working out, :noway: I have done P90X, Chalean X, turbo jam etc. I used to run when I was younger and currently have a membership to a 24 hour gym. So what is the problem? I know what to eat and how much, I just lose motivation (and I love food).

Starting weight (will weigh in on Thursday) 169-173#

not so well, a lot of changes are being made to my schedule that are out of my control, but the up side is hopefully my husband and I will be waking up early for a morning run. we have both tried doing this on our own and it never lasted, so hopefully if both of us do it we will have better results.

Still having a struggle with food choices.
  • I'd like to join despite being really late.

I'm Stef, I'm in college and still trying to figure out what to do with my life. I'm in a general arts program right now.

I'm not sure I really have any hobbies. My life is homework right now.

Interesting fact: I started dating my husband when I was 15.

Anyone else having a real hard time this week? I haven't exercised once...and I'm not really tracking food either.....I think my weight gain last week is really unmotivating me this week.

I think I might have to stop weighing in every week and move it to once a month...this is a disaster :grumble:

i went through this for awhile over the summer, the important thing to remember is that you CAN do it, you just need to get right on track today, not tomorrow, not next week, today

right down what you eat or log it

    drink all your water

mix up what you are eating, i was getting bored with the same food every day

one you are back on track for a few days in a row, your weight will go down again and maybe this will motivate you

31-12-09 - last weigh in NEW YEARS EVE!

I am so pleased to be counting my calories on this site. I can't think of the last time I lost 4 pounds in two weeks, usually I just drag with half a pound here and there.

I am feeling really good physically today, swam 33 laps in the pool too, and I am beginning to think that this is because of the new DNA-customized supplements I am taking now ... trying out for first 30 days right now. I think they are providing me with some of the nutrition my body must have always needed. I have not been particuarly hungry, had very few cravings, and lots more energy. I am also beginning to sleep better (always a problem for me).

I don't know what else to attribute this to. I had been sick for a while with broncitis, and my friend said she has never seen me get back to exercising this well this quickly before. We are both thinking it may be the supplements. If I continue to feel this good, I won't mind spending the $100 a month for the supplements.

Does anyone here take supplements? I am interested to know if you feel it makes a difference to you. I used to take Costco multi-vitamin and this is the first time I'm taking something that is vitamins, minerals, antioxidants all combined, etc. I definitely feel better on this than just the Costco vitamin.

The DNA customized supplements you mention...are they doctor prescribed? I think I caught something on the news about them but didn't realize they were available already

They are not doctor prescribed. My sister-in-law recommended I try them as her father felt a big improvement on them, and several others in her family were using them. My other sister in law is waiting to see if my sleep improves before she tries them because she has terrible trouble sleeping.

I am glad I am trying them out, for me it's worth the money and I was spending money every month for vitamins and probiotics (which this replaces for me).

If you are interested in learning more about these, check out this website where I placed my order. www.mygenewize.com/dnavitaskin

Check out some of the articles and such on the site, they are interesting too.

I am not trying to sound like an ad here ... I am just pleased about how I feel on them so far. If you want to email me, feel free to link to me as a friend and I can discuss it further with you.

Please let me know how you feel on them. I am very interested to know. I noticed they are now not charging for the DNA test, so it's something like $129 but includes free DNA testing. (I paid $199 just for the DNA testing, but still, I am happy).

I've sort of fallen off this week...I've been running every other day but not lifting. Not eating well either. Went through a break up of sorts, landlord tried to evict my roommates and me, and my bosses are being incredibly demanding these past couple weeks. I haven't weighed myself since the last weigh-in. Today though I went on a marvelous 4.6 mile run that took about 45 minutes, so the fastest I've paced myself, um, ever. The lack of lifting has allowed me to fully recover between my runs, so I guess my laziness isn't all bad. I ran the same thing Monday. I'm doing the Gateway to 8K podcasts. Friday will be my last day of Week 1. I'll incorporate lifting beginning on Saturday (leg day is always a good day.)

I WILL get back on track. I NEED to for my mental health.

I am down 1 lb. this week. My goal was to log ALL of my food. Well, I did improve on my logging from last week, but I did not log all of my food. My goal this week is to log everything. I am still getting over a cold, so my exercise component is sluggish. I am hoping to slowly get that back up and going as my body is able.

Welcome, to those that joined with us on this challenge this week. We can do this, one day at a time.

Okay, I missed last week, so this is week 5 right? Ugh, life. :ohwell:

    Week 1: 134.2 (-.4)
    Week 2: 132.6 (-2)
    Week 3: 133.6 (-1)
    Week 4: ?
    Week 5: 133.0 (-1.2)

I didn't do too much harm considering I've been so bad the past week and a half. But I can do better!!
  • Hello all!!!
I know I've been MIA for awhile but I'm still pluggin along. I've been having big problems with my fibro and that has almost halted my ability to exercise and has put a big dent in my motivation. But I'm still trying to keep moving. So I might not get to my goal by new years but I'm not going to give up. So...i don't remember my current weight, but I'll weigh in tomorrow and let you guys know!!! Thanks for the support!!! Good job to everyone else!!!

    Weigh in today!!!

It was a wonderful week in Disney World, but thankfully did not gain much in spite of all the junk food :-) Must be the heat and the walking.

    Anyways, weight today:138.5

1.5lb in 3 weeks. Getting there. Getting there. 9 -weeks and 6 lb till now. Need to pick up the pace to get to 125 by January 1st:-(

    Check in today : 140 .

    Trying to keep on track.

I spend about 4 hrs on elliptical per week and eat around 1200 cal / day. I have been at it for about 6 weeks now and lost about 5lbs.

Trying to mix it up a bit. Just ordered the 30day shred from Amazon.

Off to Disney world for a week next Friday. MUST RESIST, with the free dining plan :-(

Forgot to post yesterday, but here is my weight. Weekends are always so hard to resist any temptations. I'm going to a friend's get-together this weekend and I wil make the right eating choices, but I can't promise I will stay away from the wine. I don't ever overdo it, 2 glasses is my limit, but this means I wont be burning anything but alcohol :grumble: I've been in a funk with my workouts, I've kept up with running three times a week, but here's hoping I'll start a new round of Chalean X on Monday:blushing:

    Stay motivated, Stay strong :flowerforyou:
