I am and always have been a Ford Girl. I have had too many Mustangs to count, also have a Harley Davidson F150 that is a great truck :)

I have a pic but don't know how to post it on here :(

You're 32 and have " had too many Mustangs to count"...I don't think that bodes well for the Ford argument.
  • well if it was my pick i am a DODGE GIRL! but being married to my hubby and he being a tow truck driver we have had quit the collection of cars and trucks. i would have to say FORD on this one. I my self have a 1996 F350 4 door diesel pick up and i love it. it has about 350 horse power in it and soon it will be up to 500 horse power. i grew up in a hick town and there was not that low ridding crap it was mainly all trucks. i would pick a monster truck over a car any day. my hubby had a 91 ford bronco full size and loved it. then he traded with a guy who had 2 Mercedes and i loved those but would rather drive my truck. i love the big mudder tires and the lifts and yep its just a Fabulous love that i have. so no small trucks are not for women thanks. i want the real truck not a dinky truck!

They might not be practical for most CITY dwellers with office jobs...
I'd like to see your argument used in an area where MOST people are in the construction, farming, lawn care feild and/or own boats, jet skis, ATVs, horses...or need to move things constantly.

10 second 1/4 mile, pulls the front wheel going into third gear at 100mph, tops out at 165mph, and I've pulled 57mpg out of it pretty easily.

My 2.0 4cyl Chevy eats Mustangs and is still hungry!

I've had more than a few Mustangs I'd like to see your little Chevy try to eat.

It's always so fun to see these 'big eating' Chevy's go home with their tails between their legs.

Ha When your mustang can run close to 10sec come find me!

Before I sold it, my Mustang in the video above ended up going 10.23@138mph...in crap Phoenix summer air. Pump gas, naturally aspirated, stock 302 block based 347ci motor. That second pass in the video was in the 11.60's, with a 2 second 60', babying the throttle, no tune (and I mean 24* total timing, and stupid fat jets in the too small 700cfm carb), no cage, no suspension, leaving just off idle, crap tires...and short shifting by 2000+rpm.

    I.e...shakedown run.

Also, that was certainly not my fastest Mustang.

    I think I've got you covered :).

    Biggest thing is V8
    vs
4cylinder = really close how is a car with a massive GAS EATING engine the same as a 4cylinder.

Honestly, if you own a Toyota you have no right to own a truck. They're pathetic.

lmao...that's funny because I have a Camry Hybrid and a GMC truck parked in my garage at the moment

One is reliable and fantastic on gas, loaded and full of luxury and really sharp looking.......

The other pulls horse trailers, trailers full of brush or our 4 wheelers and loads of landscaping bricks & covered in mud ..... it's horrible on gas and the check engine light is on ALL of the time.....

I love them both, they both serve their purpose !

Because your supercharger doesn't add effective displacement...?

    Riiiiight lol.

And since when is a small block Ford 'MASSIVE'?? The car got 14mpg on average in the city, and has crested 20mpg on the freeway, that's comparable to modern EFI trucks. Pretty reasonable if you ask me. On top of that, before I sold it...I was in the process of converting it to EFI. That would have put it in the realm of my Taurus for fuel efficiency. On top of that, to run low 10's, your little 2.0 is set on kill (how much boost did you say you were running?). I'd love to see it run around on the street on a 115*F Phoenix summer day lol.

Either way, you never said anything about 'the same', you said your 2.0 Chevy eats Mustangs, I said I've had Mustangs I'd like to see it 'eat'. Point made.

But anyhow, since my MASSIVE V8 'isn't the same' as your tiny little supercharged 2.0 4cyl...how about we go a different direction? 3cyl, 41ci, 157 naturally aspirated (because we all know superchargers are like Viagra...if you can't get it up on your own, get assistance!), pump gas...daily driven horsepower. And as I said above, I've pushed 57mpg out of it pretty easily.

Oh, and it runs your 'low 10's' (that's as far as I've pushed it anyhow lol), with the potential to go well into the 9's.

*shrug*...regardless, when women see fast Mustangs and Supersport bikes...they have to 'change their pants' (to quote the young lady above lol). I've never seen a girl do much of anything in the presence of the 'mighty' 2.0 4 banger Chevy =p.

Honestly though, I respect fast vehicles of any type, and coaxing 10 second power out of a 4cyl is respectable. It's just fun to trash talk...and if we lived closer, I'm sure we'd be having beers while doing it lol.

    I did :). I just didn't want to rub it in...worse, lol.

Also for the record, it wasn't a fair argument to begin with. I owned a racing engine business here in Phoenix...building a pretty fair number of small block Ford, Chevy, and even Mopar engines (there's a reason I choose Ford for myself...though the LSx stuff is absolutely incredible). My Dad's small block Chevy (don't be misled, there's not a 'Chevy' part in it lol) 421ci dirt late model motor makes over 930 horsepower N/A...and turns up to 9000rpm doing it. While this makes the motor in my Mustang not really representative of your typical small block Ford...there's no reason it shouldn't be.

It cost me less than $4000, total...to build...intake to oil pan...made over 550hp, and turned 8000rpm every day of its life lol.

Anyhow, thanks for the fun conversation :).

I'm a Harley guy to the bone... but I would not own an american brand car... I dont have time to go the shop every month.

    Currently I own
    2007 Honda Pilot 97K miles
    2006 Honda Accord 38 K miles
    2010 Honda Fit 16K miles

I love my Hondas and thats all I'll ever buy again.
