Isjd2000, 6-7 miles! That's alot! I get tired with almost 4. Sorry about your fall, glad you are up and walking again.
yes it is alot when we started I could barely walk a mile and my dh helped push me to walk further each week - during the summer our kids even walked with us. It was a great way for the family to get out and do something healthy. They prefer hiking though cause it is 1. shorter though more strenuous and 2. the scenery changes verses walking on a flood wall or bike path. You can get up there to higher milage it just takes time. We walk about at the pace of 3.5 mph if we just have our youngest - whose in a stroller - if the older two are with us it is alittle slower since they stop at Every Bench.0 -
One more pound gone forever! :drinker:0
-
No worries. I still have baby weight from my youngest too. (She's 9. :blushing:  ) That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!:grumble:
Maybe we are long lost sisters! I still have baby weight from my youngest too. She's almost 6! And I was still carrying around that baby weight from my oldest who's 7!0 -
Good Morning Everyone:
Hope all is well with everyone .... today is my weigh in day ... starting MFP 225 current weight 205 WOOOOHOOOOOOO..... hope everyone enjoys the day today0 -
Well, I walked 1.4 miles yesterday picking the kids up from school. I also ate healthier, excluding the pizza for dinner. I ended up eating 4 slices, but they were thin crust. I drank most of my water also.
I hope everyone's day is going well!
Stacey - Have fun in Chicago! :flowerforyou:
Angie & Megan - Congratulations on the weight loss!! :flowerforyou:0 -

Aww, Angiered thank you for thinking of me! That made me feel good. And with my depression like it is lately I don't feel great all the time. Thank you! I had therapy today, That's why I wasn't posting. I leave at like 6 in the morning and don't get home till after 7. I got home early today because the STEP bus didn't pick me up today so I had to borrow my mom's car to take to therapy.0

Hey Ladies!
Congrats on all the great work everyone is doing. I am really sore today from my workout yesterday but I know that all those little tears in my muscles are repairing and making me stronger (at least I tell myself that as I grunt trying to go down the stairs lol)
I am part of that "still carrying baby fat" group! The last kid just killed me!
I weighed myself and am down another pound but won't record it until it is consistently off for over a week. I know, I am tough on myself.
Had some wine last nite but boy did I need it!
Silver---glad to hear you made it to therapy, keep it up!0 -
Well, getting to the gym just got easier. I have 61 inches of DEAD television in my living room. LOL (Not a big deal. The TV was free and we have another in the bedroom for my HAVE TO WATCH IT's)
I am definately toeing a dangerous line tonight. We're making Dulce de Leche for the first time, to try it out as a possible christmas gift item.
Wish me luck, I'd like to keep that last pound off if possible.
BUT, tomorrow is a gym day, so all hope is not lost. :happy:0 -
good day today stayed within my calories and cooked chicken for dinner. Going to the Y tomorrow to get an application so my winter workouts don't slow down - i personally do not like working out in the cold - a plus is they have a pool so i can add swimming into my workout routine. :happy:0
-
Great to hear everyone had a good day. Count me in on that one! Woke up and took my 2mile walk earlier in the day to get it over with. It was chilly but well worth it it was so nice to get out there instead of sitting on the couch for a few hours before I get motivated
Came home did some chores around the house then headed to the gym, my husband has been a great motivater lately. Before I was the one pushing him to go with me but now we are pushing eachother. We did our first circuit weight training class today and it was AMAZING, love the teacher and burned tons of cal. The plan was to head to mexican for dinner so after our workout we thought....maybe we could do some more cardio??? He did a spinning class, I did the elliptical for another 45minutes!!!! I know, I didnt' want to walk after but I felt so proud of myself for doing just a bit more and according to this site I still have calories i need to eat! and the mexican food was SOOO worth the extra minutes..
Not sure if I'll get to the gym tomorrow, but i'll for sure get my walk in...
Good Night All0 -
Wow! Everyone is doing really well.
Today is gym day for me, going to do some different strength training to keep those muscles guessing and a little more cardio (at least that is the plan, I am still sore from Tuesday)
Wish I could go running in the morning but it is just too crazy in our house trying to get all the kids up and off to school, They are all on different schedules :grumble:0 -
Wow, everyone is doing so well. Great job!0

Good morning all! I had a pretty good day yesterday. I didn't get my exercise in like I wanted to, but I got to sleep early. So I got a good nights sleep last night. First time in a while. I remember someone telling me lack of sleep can hurt weight loss. I'm not sure if that's true or not, but I feel better this morning and have more energy! Having more energy is good because I saw pictures of myself from the mountain trip that hubby took (he was taking a pic of our daughter & caught me from behind in the background). :noway: It was scary!!! It was the "wake-up pic" that I needed to help me get motivated again.
Lettuce, you rock with that exercise! I wish I could get that much in! :flowerforyou:
Silver, I hope therapy is working for you. Just remember you have people that care about you & we're here for you0 -
Amypyr, Thank you. Therapy is going well. I get to talk about things that bug me and get feedback from the other members on ways to handle the things that are bothering me. I only go until October 21st though. Cuz I don't have a sitter any longer than that. My mom is helping me out and I know that it's rough on her because she works nights and she has to stay up or get up earlier than usual to watch my daughter for me.0

Hey guys. I'm not sure how much I'll be online for a while. We had a MASSIVE house fire last night. Everyone is fine, but everything is gone.
Please hug your kids extra tight and practice your fire plan tonight.0 -

Angie! (((hugs))) I'm glad everyone is fine, but I am so sorry for your loss! I'll be thinking about you!0 -
you are all doing so great!!
i'm feeling discouraged---i'm now at 139.4--heaviest i've been in months.
RANT AHEAD
what's going on?? i did eat lots these last couple of weeks, but i've also exercised LOTS. just this past sunday i walked 6 miles and yesterday i did core p90x again and burned up 400 cals. i can't think that i've eaten an extra 7000 calories over the last two weeks!?
even with the cookies, challah, kugel, mandelbread, royal apple cake....
meaning that when i'd eat so much of that, i also exercised and i compensated by not eating other big meals. make sense??
but i can see that my belly is a little bigger. and i took msrments--up by 1/2 inch.
but my face looks good still.
and i can truly feel the increased tone/muscle in my abs and legs from the workouts of these last few weeks.
i don't believe in elimination diets, but maybe i should cut out carbs for the rest of the day (carbs from actual bread products not fruit or vege) and eliminate that water wt???
i just can't mentally get the idea that now i've only lost 9 lbs!!!
i know the math of calories in/calories out.
i want to think it's water wt--but ...
and i haven't gained 2# of muscle! that takes a lot of work, more work than i've done.
help me feel better! i wanted to be at 134 by this weekend and now....
i know it's just a #, but i really feel like a failure. :brokenheart:
like i worked so hard and came so far and blew it at the end....
...will finish catching up on the posts.
thanks for being there to listen--0 -
angie--i just read your post!!! my goodness--i'm so sorry for your losses and so glad that you are all alright!
(((BIG HUGS)))0 -
Stacey, are you SURE you haven't gained that in muscle? You've been doing a lot of exercising. And it could be water weight. I've discovered that there are a lot of things high in sodium that I never thought were. I used to think I ate a low sodium diet (and I do compared to the average person), but when I logged it . . . WOW!
We all get discouraged now and then. Just don't give up. You've still come a long way. Losing weight isn't easy. But you can do it. We're here for you. :flowerforyou:0 -
Angie----so sorry to hear that! My goes out to you. You and your family are in my prayers and thoughts. Hang in there and we are here for you!
Stacey---you could be hanging on to the weight and/or gaining a little because of stress. It is true that stress does that to us due to hormones. Hang in there, try to relax and it will come off (now for me to listen to my own preaching  )
Amy-- all that lifting really only take me about 25-30 min at the gym, I have learned to be quick and efficient since I always have so little time. Right now I am using all my free time that Caden is in pre-school to exercise (only 2x a wk) I have so many other things I need to do so am trying not to feel guilty.
Does anyone else feel guilty when they exercise? I try not to since I know it will make me a better mom and person but it is sooo hard!0 -

Yes. My first thought is to take care of my family and to keep things cleaned up around the house. But so many people have told me (including some of you) that the dishes and dusting can wait, I need to take care of myself. But it is hard to rethink that way. I went so long putting myself lowest on the totem pole that I feel a little guilty even buying a new shirt for myself at times.0 -
Hello, I hope you all don't mind me jumping in but I just found this sight (well I actually found it awhile back but I am just now deciding that I need to actually use it:) and I am loving it so far. I have spent way too much time on it just reading everything and getting motivated. I am a SAHM who is in desperate need of a change. I am the kind of person who needs structure in my day and often being a SAHM (at least for me) I find that almost impossible. WHen I don't have structure I get depressed and when I get depressed I just EAT! I have gained twenty pounds in only three months and I am sick to death of my body and the way I am treating it. I would love some motivation from other ladies like me. So far you all have already been a great inspiration...THANKS!0
-
Hi everyone! I am at stay at home mom for the first time and I would love to join the group! I need all of the motivation an support I can get! I am great with the exercise, but the eating! :noway: I sure do struggle with the overeating. Especially when my kids and theur dad are toothpicks!0
-
welcome nicolee and sunnyd! this is an espec wonderful group of ladies. we cheer and advise and support as needed!
thanks lettuce and amy. i know i can only keep going forward. incl the 4 choc chip cookies i just downed!! honestly, i've been hungry hungry lately! and of course i reach for the carbs.
i need to do some work while little one watches charlie and the choc fact--so if i'm hungry, it's carrots and pnut butt.
will do workout later this am or during his naptime.--:flowerforyou:0 -

Aww, Angiered! That's terrible. Someone near me, about 2 or 3 miles away had a big house fire. I'd hug Sharlotte, but she's with her dad. I'm terribly sorry for your loss.0 -
Welp, day 1 and I already screwed up. I ate a good breakfast and snack. I was on here and feeling good and pumped up and then BAHM! It was like I felt so good I gave myself permission to pig out so I went to stinking Captin D's. I came home with my horde of food and it just so happens that my husband came home for lunch. I was cuaght redhanded and felt like a complete loser. I almost started crying. Sorry to be such a bummer but I was really looking forward to a good day and it was like my mind went on autopilot until my husband woke me up which now has me feeling a crap load of shame:embarassed: :sad:0

Look at it this way, you can continue to beat yourself up because you are human and you hit a weak point, or you can take it as a lesson. "I don't want to have the guilt monster after me anymore, so was my little binge worth it?" I then exercise like crazy to take out my frustration!0
