What do you do when you just want to SNACK?

I've been at this for a few weeks now, and I've only had a couple snack attacks. So far today I have eaten great, got in a decent workout, drank a bunch of water, and now I could sit down and stuff my face. Where does this awful feeling come from? Ugh! And what do you do when it hits you? I'm gonna go water my garden and see if that keeps me busy long enough for this to pass..

Embrace that feeling because it means your diet is working. Your body is craving what you have taken away from it. That is why every 6-7 days you should have a cheat meal something that is not even close to your diet but don't over do it. It keeps you sane and gives you something to look forward to when you get those attacks.0

Are you eating all of your calories plus your exercise calories? If you're hungry... it may be that you need to up your calories a bit. You shouldn't feel hungry or deprived, since you are not "dieting" you are making a lifestyle change. I always try to eat a little something after a workout, for a recovery.0

Just eat whatever you want, track it, get your minimum protein macros and make sure you're still in a deficit.0

I have a snack.0

I have a snack...
Is this a trick question???? Do I win a prize!

I usually drink a glass of water, and then have some popcorn! Its full of fiber so it keeps you full, and it's also not a lot of calories! just don't get the super buttery kind0

I buy a couple items that are like chips or snacks but healthier ones. So it fills my snack craving. I just found Kellogg's sea salt cracker chips, 30 chips for 110 cals! They are yummy!!0

I eat a healthy snack. Apple, yogurt, grapes or gasp.....a snickers....if it fits in my daily calories.0
-
I open my mouth and insert food....
wait
is there a different snack??:huh:0 -
Popcorn!! We have this popcorn that is 120 calories for 4.5 cups popped. Nice air popped popcorn is simply the best.0

Brush your teeth and drink a glass of water.
Good for hydration, good for your teeth, zero calories, and cuts cravings.
Admittedly I learned this from a pro-ana website, but hey, it works.0 -
punch myself in the dong, it's quite distracting0

I do a long and very personal dance ritual. Oh...and then I eat something.0

I snack and track it!0

Where does this awful feeling come from?
I think it's called "hunger." It's pretty standard across all carbon-based life forms.0 -
bananas or fruit snacks0

Step 1: See if you're craving, hungry or thirsty. Drink a cup of water or tea and wait 15 mins.
Step 2: Still hungry for that SPECIFIC food? It's a craving. You're not hungry.
Step 3: Still hungry? Go ahead, eat! High-protein, high-fibre and moderate-fat is the key. I like eating 12.5g peanuts (80kcal)0 -
mini rice cakes and avocado. yummy0
-
eat something light, don't deprive yourself of food if you're really hungry0

Just to clarify. I'm not hungry at all. Just want to stuff my face. I've already eaten several healthy snacks, but what I really want is junk. Sooo... I watered the garden, popped in a piece of gum, and voila! It passed. But I have a feeling it won't always be that easy. I guess this is what will power is. Never had THAT before!0

If I think it's just from boredom, I will have a cup of tea or take a walk. If I'm actually hungry, I eat. Then either eat a bit less at dinner, or the next day. Or not, because going over one day is not going to hurt anything in the long run. I usually have almonds for a snack, I find them very satisfying.0

I LOVE Kellogg's Sea Salt Cracker Chips!
And I agree with everyone who says snack. Sometimes you just need a little more food. I find that higher protein items satisfy me better. I like things like: a cup of cottage cheese, a couple hard boiled eggs, a cup of nonfat or lowfat yogurt or a handful of nuts.
Don't starve yourself; that just sets you up for failure eventually... Best wishes! :flowerforyou:0 -

It's okay to be hungry. I think people forget that hunger won't kill you.0 -
I have a snack and track it. It may mean I eat a smaller dinner that night, but I eat when I'm hungry. I also like to keep healthy snacks in the house that suit any craving. For salty I buy smart pop popcorn, sweet I buy fruit and dark chocolate etc.0

I'm with everyone else, If I'm hungry I have a snack...a healthy one. I really wouldnt say up your calories b/c you're new to this and you're going to be hungry you're body isnt used to all this cutting back. There are alot of 100 calorie snacks, Special K even has a Strawberry bar that's 90 cals and drink water...lots of water to fill you up.0

If I'm hungry I eat a snack. I have a tendency to want to munch, though, if I'm tired or dehydrated. So first I force down my protein shake cup (20oz) full of water and then if I'm tired I just go to bed.0

Snack on sugar snap peas is what I do.0

If it's boredom, I don't eat. I'll distract myself and go for a walk or hula hoop. If it's actual hunger I'll eat something like peppers and salsa, apple with a slice of cheese, etc.0
