I just got back from Vegas! So much fun! I would suggest a couple pool parties, I went to Tao and at night depending on how many people you're going with get VIP at the night clubs because then you get your own section and drinks ( it was cheaper for my group to do that)! Have fun!!!0

Beatles - Love at the Mirage! If you're a Beatles fan, its a must see. I see it every time I go! I'll be in Vegas from June 12-15 and I already have my tickets!
I am definitely doing this when I go in July!0 -
harrahs patio has kareoke - good stuff
and go downtown one night - the light shows is fun!
and drink till you puke, then drink some more.0 -
Just got back from Vegas this past weekend! Personally my favorite part is Fremont Street. It's the older part of Vegas, but a great place to walk around, cheap drinks, play some slots ect. And the light show at night is pretty cool, along with live music.
Best part about Vegas is all the walking, meaning my hubby and I ate and drank what we wanted. I was up 3 lbs. when I got back, but gave it 1 day and now I'm less than I was when I left. So it was water weight and the walking paid off... and boy did we eat and drink.0 -
I love Vegas! I'll be there next month too. Some of my favorite spots to hit up and things to do are:
1.) Pool Party during the day for sure!!! Some might even have an open bar during designated hours.
2.) XS, Surrender, Tao or Marquee nightclub
3.) Serendipity in Cesar's Palace
4.) World Buffet at the Rio
5.) Earl of Sandwich- Best sandwiches, hands down.
6.) See a show! I've never been but I'm going to Cirque du Soleil next month.
And I would recommend hitting up a promoter before you go. They can hook you up for some great deals while you're there. And haveeee funnn! But then again, Vegas is always bound to be fun. lol
We loved Serendipity and Baby Cakes off the strip for banana cream pie pancakes. I went for the Vegas Rockabilly Weekender and truly loved running on the strip for exercise.0 -
Funny, being in Vegas is what kickstarted my weight loss, and using MFP. I went for my 40th birthday in February, and wanted to go the Zip Line on Fremont St. at night. I arrived to find out they have a scale and a max weight of 250 lbs. I was over the weight limit, and wasn't able to do it. I am looking forward to going back and trying it on my 41st birthday. You can always try it and let me know how fun it is, lol.
Aside from that, if you can find a cool band playing at the Joint at the Hard Rock, the venue is fantastic for live music. I saw Motley Crue while I was there, and it was a pretty great show.0 -
If you get a chance to see a show, I'd recommend it. Especially at one of the bigger hotels on the strip. Take a camera and be ready to walk. You'll get plenty of steps.
If you're not worried about your diet, which you shouldn't be because you're in Vegas, check out the buffet (The Wicked Spoon) in the Cosmopolitan. It is absolutely fantastic. The best I've had in Vegas.
Never been much into the club scene so I can't help you out there. Just be up for anything because it's Vegas! Take naps whenever you want because it never shuts down!
We're going to a friend's wedding in Vegas at the end of June at the Mirage. I hear the pool there is awesome so I'm looking forward to it. Have fun!0 -
I agree with the Paris hotel buffet for breakfast...so amazing!
Red Rock Canyon is about 20min away, great hiking and views I burned about 1700 cals there!
Wear comfy shoes, the walking is great!0 -
Of all things work is sending me to Vegas next month for training...being in Vegas will make for some rough mornings I am sure...this info should help me plan my evenings though.0
-
Ill be there tomorrow for my 3rd trip!
check out at least one Cirque du Soleil show
and whereever you want to go you can do!
I am going to a punk rock bowling tournament and festival tomorrow. . . punkrockbowling.com <- club shoes, comedy shows, bowling, music fest, great food, great shopping
AHH!!! SO MUCH FUN!!!!!! EEEEEEEEE!!0 -
Ooh and Frankies Tiki Room was AMAZING if you like retro kitsch at all.0
-
And if you want to see old school Vegas, head down to Fremont St.(downtown Vegas) (probably 20 buck cab ride from the strip). It's a cool atmosphere, but you have to know what you're getting into. It's not hoity toity like the strip, it's old school and a nice place for people watching.0

Yaayyy!!! I'm going to Vegas next Friday to celebrate my birthday; i'm so excited and can't wait!!!! Have fun!!!0

Put $20 on black!0

I live here in Vegas. Just enjoy being the tourist. I don't really go out so I can't advise of any places to go. There's the usual, walking the strip, freemont street experience. Hope you have a great time.
^^^This^^^ I too live in Vegas. Enjoy being a tourist and have fun while here! Living in Vegas is a bit different as the Strip will always be there; but there is life off of the strip as well.0 -
all roads lead to the Spearmint Rhino
ha! I just googled this.. dosent sound like TOO bad of place to end up... lol
I am going to Vegas next month, too! We are staying downtown, the Golden Nugget. I am excited about the pool-they have a water slide through the shark tank.
You might be on to something with the topless pools, probably less crowded and free for women. Not sure I would have the guts though, there are some pretty phenomenal bodies in Las Vegas!
Things I always like to do: burger at In N Out, Bellagio fountains, shopping at Planet Hollywood, we didn't use to have an H&M in Colorado so I always went there, Cirque shows (I have seen them all, but Beatles in my fave! This time we are going to La Reve, which is not technically Cirque but same idea I have heard). I also like a buffet sometimes-Wynn, Bellagio and Mandalay are all superb.
Last time I was there, July 2011, pretty sure I got food poisoning and heat stroke, so be careful. I am going to try and drink a lot more water this time, but it is hard!0 -
oh, and when I was last year for a bachelorette party we got free passes to lots of clubs, just walking around the casinos and pools. We got into the VIP pool at MGM for free, and LAX at Luxor, which also had free drinks for women until 11pm. Also, there are people on the street who give out passes to the various clubs, they expect a tip...0

Thanks you guys are awesome! There is so much I want to do now... but the drink and puke part sounds best.. lol
I have a 11 month old and havent done anything since he was born... i am way overdue!0 -
this thread is perfect a group of us are going at the end of June! It will be my first time... so all these ideas are great! I SOOOOO want to go to the Ice Bar... I went to one in Stockholm and it was a blast!0

I'll be there this weekend, actually!
The pool during the day. If you like clubbing, I believe RX (@ the Hard Rock? -- there are signs posted EVERYWHERE, so you can't miss it) has a supposedly awesome pool club scene during the day. I personally like chillin' at the Palazzo/Venetian pool during the day -- they also have a European style swimming area if you're into that.
For food, the Venetian has some of the BEST restaurants. Also, if you hit up Cesar's Palace and like Latin food, Bobby Flay's The Mesa Grill is phenomenal. I also LOVE BLT Burger. It's my favorite. I used to insist on going there every time I was in Vegas, but since they recently opened one up in LA, I don't need to act like a desperate coke addict every time I'm in the near vicinity of it.
I like to gamble, so I don't club much... but you're hot, so I'm sure you'll get free passes to whatever club you pass. They'll be dudes representing the club handing them out to girls: "Hey, wanna go to [insert name of club here]... here's some passes."
Good luck, have fun, and stay safe!0 -
tannin by the pool, best thing to do in vegas!0
-
Beatles - Love at the Mirage! If you're a Beatles fan, its a must see. I see it every time I go! I'll be in Vegas from June 12-15 and I already have my tickets!
I am going next week and hope to catch this show. I love Cirque shows!!!0 -
Girlllll!!!! I'm going June 20th!!!!0
-
Just have fun, be conscious but the weight comes back off quickly - I have been 2x since I joined MFP!
I would recommend a show - I have seen Beattles Love at the Mirage, Le Reve at the Wynn, Viva Elvis at the Aria, Penn and Teller at the Rio. All great, personally wouldn't waste money on Chris Angel, I didn't like it. I have been to the wax museum at the Venetian that was fun! Also did Titanic at the Luxor and could live without.
I think Freemont Street is a must at night for the light show.
Each and every hotel has something neat to offer. What hotel did you decide to stay at?
I have stayed at NY NY, Flamingo, Harrah's, and Imperial Palace. Imperial Palace had much to be desired but for the amount we were in the room it was fine. And for breakfast their restaurant Hash a Go Go (or something cant recal exactly) was outstanding.
Outlet shopping is fun too!
Ive never clubbed but went to a place in Mirage called 'King Ink' and it wasn't bad.
I gamble!!! cheap drinks at Casino Royale, and its smaller so you actually get served quick!!0 -
Girlllll!!!! I'm going June 20th!!!!
I will be there then... YAY!!!0 -
If you're a vodka fan don't miss out on on going to Minus5 at the Mandalay Bay, the whole bar is made of ice (they give you parkas to stay warm), quite the experience! ...Think of it as drinking inside a giant freezer!
There is also a Minus 5 bar in the Monte Carlo!0 -
There is an outdoor bar right infront of Harrah's called 'Carnaval Court' it's pretty fun too!0
-
For any of you guys heading to Vegas I have a spreadsheet of all the various things that happen at the various hotels and elsewhere (cause I'm just that dorky). Probably not 100% current as I went a few years ago, but tells you all the times (and prices) and such for things like the Volcano at the Mirage, the fountains at the Bellagio, the lion feedings at MGM (oops, I see in another post the MGM lions are gone), etc. etc. I gave it to a friend who went a couple months ago and she said it was totally awesome to have that. Anyone interested just send me a PM with your email address and I'll send it along. :-)0

Girlllll!!!! I'm going June 20th!!!!
I will be there then... YAY!!!
Where are you staying!?0 -
I don't know how strict you will be on your diet, but for breakfast the Paris hotel buffet is excellent but you have to get there early on the weekend. I've heard that the new M casino has a nice regular buffet. If I'm there a weekend I usually do one very nice dining restaurant and one buffet, not necessarily in the same day. Then eat light fruits and oatmeals the rest of the day. Bellagio and Venetian have nice fine restaurants, but most hotels have the gamut in price and food choices.
I don't play tables or anything just slots, so no gambling advice. It will be hot most likely so be prepared. I usually get a map of the hotels like on vegas.com, so I can see where they are in relation to where I'm staying then you can plan what you see when you walk and if there are places you want to catch a cab to. Even casinos next door can be a long walk though, so comfy shoes are always good. Save your clubbin' heels for the cab nights.
I like to see the lions at the MGM grand. They also have the white tigers still at the Mirage. There's a coca cola and m & m museum on the strip too if you are tired of gambling, eating, drinking or sunning yourself
The lions at MGM are gone.
If you're into poker, the World Series of Poker will be going on at the Rio.
Check out Fremont Street (old Vegas) for a change of pace. They have an amazing light show each night and even have a zip line.
Check out "Absinthe" if you're looking for a good show to see.
If you're looking to get off the Strip (and have a car), definitely check out Red Rock Canyon. It's a great place to hike, etc. And Ethel M's chocolate factory is a cool take-a-break-from-the-Strip kind of thing to do.
City Center, specifically Aria, is the latest place to hang by the pool. They're is also an amazing high-end mall (Crystals) that is fun to check out.
DON'T FORGET TO DRINK TONS OF WATER!! You will be amazed how quickly you will dehydrate in 110 degree weather.
Have fun!0
