  • Well we've come to the weekend. I'm very happy to say that I walked 2.6 miles yesterday. Considering everything going on with my health I'm pleased with it. I just hope I can get it in this weekend. Weekends are hard for me. Have a great weekend everyone!! Anyone got any big plans??

    AHHHHHHHHHH!

Anyone else have a terrible eating & exercising weekend?

Weekends & alcohol are my biggest pitfalls in getting rid of these last 10 lbs....first there's the extra calories and then there's the lack of self control in eating once a few drinks are in me. Chicken Swarma at 3am? was that really necessary????? Sooo like I say every Monday.....will try to do damage control all this week.

How did everyone else fare? Better than me I'm sure

  • Man, my weekend was rough!!! The main thing was TOM!!!!!! It really wipes me out and makes me extremely hungry for all of the wrong things!!! I'm still trying to fight the urge to go to the Cheesecake Factory and get a piece of Red Velvet Cheesecake!!!! Its soooooo yyyyuuuuuummmmmyyyyy!!!!!!! Must fight the urge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, I managed to keep my energy up enough to do 20 min of yoga in addition to the 8100 steps that I took yesterday. I stuck to my plan pretty well so I'll take the little victories and will be happy!!! I'm planning on doing WATP 1 mile walk today and maybe a 10 min yoga dvd too. We will see...

    Have a great day folks!!!

Good news: My hubby and I bought a scale! First time since I moved out for college that I've had one of those.
Bad news: It reads a little higher than my in-law's scale we have been using. When we got it it said that I was 205! I knew that I may have gained a couple pounds because of water retention, but TEN!:noway: So I waited a few days and tried again. Miraculously, in 2 days time, I lost 10 pounds! Now, I don't know if this is from water, or from the scale needing recalibrated (which my husband did when it told him that he, too, had gained 10 pounds. When I told him what it had told me, he was like, yeah whatever, but when it told him the same thing, by god something needed fixed!). So I'll try to get to my in-laws' this weekend to see what their scale says. I don't know which scale is right, but I know which one I'd rather go with!

  • Okay so yesterday I got in my WATP 1m plus walked 9,000 steps!! I'm very happy about that. I didn't do the 10 min of yoga but I'm happy with what I did do. I did pretty well with my eating and water but I'm still struggling with my sodium. Its hard to keep it down since I don't cook much which means I'm eating a lot of processed foods. But I'm still working on it. I'm hoping if I increase my water that will help flush some of the sodium out of my body. Who knows...

    How's everyone's week going??

I keep reading that food is 80 % or more of the battle so its great that you are staying within your calories....

In regards to exercise - Instead of doing a full workout break it out throughout the day...10 minutes in the morning of strength, a quick 10 minute walk at work/school and a 10 minute cardio/walk before dinner. Park your car in the furthest parking spot or get off a bus stop early etc.... its easier to do exercise in little bits sometimes when you're feeling tired....

    Cheers!

Okay, I missed last week, so this is week 5 right? Ugh, life. :ohwell:

    Week 1: 134.2 (-.4)
    Week 2: 132.6 (-2)
    Week 3: 133.6 (-1)
    Week 4: ?
    Week 5: 133.0 (-1.2)

I didn't do too much harm considering I've been so bad the past week and a half. But I can do better!!

Forgot to measure inches this week. I have been spending a lot of time with an incredible guy  who pretty much eats what I cook, and I just haven't been as bored/hungry as I'd been in the recent past. I'm eating healthily still, but keeping track of food in my head more. I'm on week 2 of the Gateway to 8k and it's going really well. My lifting days are shorter now (30 min) but really high rep. My runs are 46 minutes this week (36 running, 10 walking). So I have actually lost a good bit of weight but I don't really see it, so I'm thinking there are some things going on that are deeper than the sub-q fat.

    Week 1: 134.2 (-.4)
    Week 2: 132.6 (-2)
    Week 3: 133.6 (-1)
    Week 4: ?
    Week 5: 133.0 (-1.2)
    Week 6: 131.8 (-2.8)

I'm losing about 1/2 lb a week which is good for my size. I find that I lose more easily if I keep my calories higher and avoid overtraining.

Woohoo! I am now officially (checked it on the original scale I started with) below my "before first baby" weight!:smokin: Of course, that 190 is with clothes and right before dinner, so it may be a little less. Woohoo! Skinny jeans are getting close to being my every day jeans!

    Hello,
We've all done it, we've had a bad day, ate too much, and what we need to learn is why we did it and how to avoid it happening in the first place. Some peoople say moderation, but if it's in the house, it can be tempting.

    So, my tips, ..
Why is the chocolate cake, crisps, and beer in the house?,
Beer if it's in the house it will be drank. Chocolat cake, we know how tempting that can be.
    Alcohol slows down your metabolism.:grumble:

Out of sight, out of mind. If we know there's these goodies in the house, it will tempt us, and depending on how strong the will power is, we will fail and eat it. :blushing:

This is a lifestyle change. Take the things that are bad for you out of the house, keep them out, and replace them with good alernatives.
It's choices we make. We always have choices to have that chocolate cake, or something healthier, bags of crisps, or an apple, carrots, celery...

My experience.. I thought I could have one or two beers every other weekend.(compared to 8-15 beers when I did drink before) It was those weeks where I never loss any weight. Coincedence. Shrug, I know what I've read, and know what I did wrong, and try to avoid doing it in future.
Do I need 1 or 2 beers ever now and then, not really. I miss the taste, but if it cancels out most of the workouts I did in a week, then to me it's not worth it.

You've done well, forget about it, make some changes and get back at it.,
    You can do this.:flowerforyou:

    thanks for the advice Peter

i should say i am visiting the inlaws for 4 days and they have loads of nice things in the house, as there are other visitors too,

i have to keep all those kinds of things out of my house at all costs :grumble:

I went hiking for 5 hours today...did 13.5 miles. Whew! I can't eat all 3,000 calories lol, but that's okay. I'm starting week 3 of my Gateway to 8k program on Tuesday. I normally run Monday, but not after today's hike. I'll lift tomorrow instead.
  • Hey folks!!
I'm still up in my weight!!! I'm not sure if its water weight or what, but I'm closely monitoring my sodium and I've noticed that I keep going over my fat allotment even if i'm not going over my calories :noway: !!!! It's frustrating times right now because I feel like no matter how hard I fight to get rid of the fat this weight is fighting harder to stay!!!!!:grumble: :explode:  I don't know what to do...I"ve increased my water and lowered my calorie allotment because I'm not working out as long as I used to (fibro giving me the blues:sick: ). According to what I'm eating I should be losing at least 1 lb a week, but I'm not!!!:brokenheart:  I'm really discouraged and heart broken right now...:cry: :brokenheart: :brokenheart:

Don't get discouraged. Some people have to tweak stuff to make it adjust to their body.

Have you taken measurements? How are your clothes feeling?
If you'd like some assitance from people, we will need to know your #'s to help out.
You say you lowered your calorie allotment.. from how much to how much?
If your going over in your fat allotment, there should be something in your food diary that should stick out and contains alot of your daily fats.
Take it out of your meals ?
Are you eating 3 meals or 5-6 meals?
