Under the Dome by Stephen King

Loved the concept (though visions of the Simpsons movie kept interfering!) but hated the ending - good idea but poor execution, IMHO.

HAHAHAHHA Yes! I know what you mean! i started to read this book but we parted ways before i finished.

Alrighty I'm just gonna read you my bookshelf.

Virginia Andrews ( the ones under VC Andrews were completed after she died)
Jean M Auel - love her books, historical novels, very well researched
Kylie Chan - based on Chinese mythology with an Australian main character
    Bryce Courtenay
Sara Douglas - the only series I'm a bit iffy on is her Crucible trilogy, read it in high school and can't get into it now
    Jim Butcher
David and Leigh Eddings - David's novels after Leigh died are still quite good but missing his wife's touch
Terry Goodkind - I absolutely love the Mord-Sith!
John Marsden - they have started making these into movies and have kept fairly true to the books
    Anne McCaffreys Acorns series
    Terry Pratchett
    Paul Stewart and Chris Riddell
    Rachel Treasure - very Aussie
And last but not least My Story by Dave Pelzer, heart wrenching.

wow! So many i havent heard of - def gives me something to sink my teeth into. LOVED LOVED LOVED the tomorrow series by marsden.

Glad I gave some ideas. Did you see Tomorrow When The War Began the movie?

Mm..I thought it was fairly true to the book (given how disappointing others have been like The Potato Factory). Didn't agree with Robyn at first but then I remembered how religious she was supposed to be. I can't wait until they do the rest. How didn't it live up to your reading of it?

Plum Spooky. I'm trying to finish the Stephanie Plum series. I started with book 1 about 3 months ago, just finished Fearless Fourteen, started on Plum Spooky, and now have 16, 17, and 18 to go and I think there's another between the numbers in there somewhere too. Almost done finally, lol.
