In season fruits & veg--cheaper and tastier! For example, zucchini, spinach, bell peppers, salad, tomatoes, green beans, strawberries, peaches, etc. Red onions, scallions, eggs & mushrooms are year round for me. Now that it's warmer, I'm getting Greek yogurt more often, and less fixin's for soup or homemade pizza.

Lots of fruits and veggies, meat that is on sale, chobani yogurt, cottage cheese, natural PB, oatmeal, frozen berries, eggs, skim milk, almonds.

I also stockpile things for recipes and snacks when they go on sale.

about the same - chobani (plain, nonfat), Daisy 2% cottage cheese, chicken (to make for sandwiches and salads since it's less sodium than deli meat), lower sodium deli meat, cheese, earthbound farms spring mix, earthbound farms spinach, eggs, various veggies.

I joined a CSA, so I get (organic, free range) meat, eggs and raw dairy from that. They also include some veggies, nut butters and homemade whole wheat pasta. SO, I supplement that by buying yogurt, ice cream, fruit, other veggies (mixed greens, tomatoes, cucumber, frozen veggies of all sorts) (they have had a lot of broccoli, kale and cabbage). Then I might buy some sweet potatoes, rice or other starches. Oh! and Ezekial bread, English muffins, granola bars. It just sort of depends on what I get from the CSA.

    Chicken thighs
    baby carrots
    fat-free cottage cheese (Trader Joe's)
    Thin Thin protein bars
    Eggs
    bags of lettuce
    tomato
    avocado
    cucumber

    unflavored 2x protein greek yogurt
72% dark chocolate bar (Trader Joe's or Godiva)
Vegetable Melange (frozen veggies from Trader Joe's)
    Frozen Salmon portions
... and if i'm feeling virtuous then some fresh broccoli and green beans ...
... If i'm not feeling virtuous than also El Ranchero salt-free corn chips and Dancing Iguana Guacamole and a bottle of wine ;p

Some of the staples always on my list are:

    Skim milk
    eggs
    bananas
watermelon/strawberries (or whatever is in season)
    bell peppers
    celery
    chicken breast - boneless/skinless
    peanut butter
    Breyer's Natural Vanilla ice cream

I know the last item will raise eyebrows. I'm not going to kid myself and say I will never eat ice cream again. I am learning portion control. AND, I make allowances during the day if I want to have ice cream in the evening.
