The one thing you stopped doing....
Replies
-
Started wearing a pedometer and focused on getting to certain amounts of steps each day - made a huge difference!0
-
I cut out starchy carbs and eat smaller portions.0
-
Started honestly tracking calories, wearing a heart rate monitor, and making myself and my workouts my TOP priority... So far so good!0
-
hardly drink pop anymore, started eating breakfast! (never hungry right when i wake up..so i bring something to work and eat around 10am..and now i don't pig out at lunch! amazing how that works!!)0

i am doing something that i was told to do when I was pregnant.....if i want my diet pepsi bad enough, drink one, and then drink a glass of water.....i have cut down on drinking it to probably 1-3 a day vs 8, 12, or 24 a day. i started to this week cook rather then having fast food (can't say the same for my hubby), i am trying to not eat after 9 at night, but that hasn't been too successful, i have stopped eating potato chips, rather eating cracker chips. I am also trying to make exercise a priority rather then an option, because i need something for me. I'm sure there are more that i am forgetting....been a long day!0

I stopped eating cereal. I cannot be trusted to eat a reasonable portion of it.
I also largely stopped ordering pizza and Thai food, not because they're "not allowed," but because I don't feel that the cost (both monetary and caloric) is justified.0 -
Ate my food in smaller portions throughout the day. When I get home, I'm usually hungry but no so hungry that I make unfortunate food choices at suppertime.0

I stopped drinking sodas 3 weeks ago. Drink more water now. I also started taking supplements regularly and noticed a big difference when I started taking the L-Carnitine. I can still wear size 16 even though I have gained weight. The fat metabolizer supplment helped.0

I started drinking a ton of water throughout the day and cut out all the other liquids.
Smaller portions.
Work out 5x a week, at least one a muscle class.0 -
I started drinking more water and less pop. Now if I drink it, it has to be diet! And I stopped eating cookies and milk for breakfast. And I stopped eating a whole pizza by myself. And I actually started getting my *kitten* off the couch and exercising. The list goes on. lol0

Went from 10 beers a night to 24 beers a month.
I need to try this approach.
Haha...maybe.0 -
Counting my calories and exercising made a huge difference...I had no idea how many calories I was consuming.0
-
Yup -- tracking everything I eat and exercising every day. That's the magic for me.0
-
I cut out milk for sure and only have it on occasion....I could easily drink all my calories in milk!
I cut out most processed foods and STOPPED having "just one bite" because it's never just ONE bite! LOL!
Also stopped eating the rest of my son's lunch because I didn't want it to go to waste....now I just don't give him as much! PORTION CONTROL FOR ALL!! LOL!0 -
The first step for me was that I stopped keeping things with high fructose corn syrup in the house. I like to think of it as the spark that inspired my healthy-eating kick.
Then I stopped eating meat and dairy so often. I also stopped letting food control me, and let me control food... a big part of that was definitely willpower and mindfulness over portion control.0 -
Stopped smoking.
Started drinking more water.0 -
i stopped having dessert every night after dinner.0

What is the one (or a couple) thing you stopped doing, or started doing, and you noticed results almost immediately?
I stopped being sedentary.0 -
I started drinking only water two days ago and I'm already down 2lbs. Now, those 2 lbs are probably pure water weight, but they're enough to keep me motivated!0
-
Stopped drinking beer, sigh0
-
stopped soda and traded it for water
really, its the ONLY thing ive done, and so far its been amazing!
the weight that i lost from that alone made me want to work on losing more, though right now im just watching/tracking what i eat, just to help keep me mindful of what i put in my mouth lol0 -
started a better sleeping schedule!0
-
Stopped drinking Soda. Will only have a little bit of sprite zero if i have an upset stomach.0

Stopped eating after dinner/ late night snacking. Sounds easy but was/ is HARD.
I no longer allow 'risky' food into the house. No chocolate, no take-away,no lollies, no nothing. I still eat junk, but absolutely NEVER in the house.
This is an easier rule - and a surprisingly good one. If I want chocolate I imagine eating it in front of the TV, somehow driving to the shop every time and eating it in my car isn't fun - so I don't do it (much) lol.0 -
Stopped eating cereal.
Stopped eating french fries.
Stopped driving two blocks to town...now I walk.0
