Couple of things. First to the person you don't have to click on the pictures. Trying my best to avoid saying something harsh here. Are you suggesting that folks should stop clicking on a success story because it might contain a picture thats too revealing? Because once you click on a post, you see the picture. I could be on the site at work and click on a success story that pops up on my feed or on the recent posted topics and because I like motivating myself via success stories, it is ME you don't want clicking on the topics? How about you control your libido and post a warning like "Too revealing pic included" or something in the topic or "NSFW" (Not safe for work) in the title so we know how to open it around kids.

That being said, the OP isn't saying anything about pics of bikinis or underpants that is showing off your hard work. She is talking when these pics are taken to an extreme. You are on the internet, I'm sure you can see alot of private parts if you want on a million other website....

Oh! Where do I find this picture!! lol:)))

Lol let me know if you find it

Pretty sure I saw it. Or, at least I saw one that was as described… naked down to "there". Gotta admit, I was a little shocked - and then I was awed. It was smokin' HAWT. :smokin: It was on a thread from misscourtney … something about guys showing their chests off… there were a few that were showing a bit more than chest, if ya know what I mean.

So, yeah, I'd NEVER put a pic of myself like that out in the digital world, but gotta say I will look at those that do.

People must be so proud of their bodies they feel the need to show it all!! Haha. I know what you mean though, some of it is way too revealing.

I personally don't care if I'm looking at revealing photos of others...but what SHOCKS me is that they're putting these on the internet. Can you imagine if a COWORKER came on this site and saw some of these??? Holy moly....I think I'd die if I were them. Wowsers.

To each their own. I am a very modest person, but I find the half naked pictures inspiring that I could potentially one day have a similar body. Human bodies small or big are a beautiful thing to me. Nothing to be embarrassed about.

There is a fine line between showing off success and Porn.

Definition of pornography: creative activity (writing or pictures or films etc.) of no literary or artistic value other than to stimulate sexual desire

Somehow I doubt the picture is porn.

I figure I'm an adult and can handle some semi-nudity. All this talk about porn.... Heck, two birds, one stone. Thanks, MFP!

OP isn't talking about people in bikinis or short shorts, she's talking about someone being nearly nude and just an inch away from being soft core porn.

Oh, and how can you avoid clicking on picture? If you click on a success thread the pictures are just going to appear.

One year ago I would not be standing in front of my mirror in a tank and panties taking a pic of myself to show off my body.. but due to my hard work and determination and MFP and my friends on here I am damn proud of my progress and for a 40 yr old woman with two kids to be able to be in a bikini again I am not gonna hide my body. My advise is if you don't want to see skin.. than don't look and I personally love seeing everyones progress.. men and woman. My thoughts.

Virtuosity is a thing of the past just like black and white TV and record albums. With technology being what it is, it just fosters more narcissism. People who are insecure when they don't feel good about their bodies will find ways to cover up but when they shed the weight they sometimes do a complete turnabout in their behavior. It's a form of pathos, really. I'm all for having a healthy self-esteem but a lot of the posts you speak of are from people who are searching for compliments. It's very sad and superficial. If they had true self-esteem then how they felt about their bodies wouldn't matter whether they were overweight or not. The photograph is merely a way of proving they are part of the "cool kids" clique.

So very well said. It stands to reason, too, that I would not be a part of the "cook kid" culture as an adult since I didn't care about being part of it as a kid. If I have to be willing to put various body parts on display and talk trashy with strangers on the internet in order to be "accepted" or deemed "cool", then I definitely still don't want to be a part of that culture.

It's probably already been said in this thread, but I don't feel like looking to see if it was...

For those of you saying we don't have to look at the pics, it's kind of hard NOT to look sometimes when they're in the OP and you have no idea they are going to be there. The one mentioned in the OP of this thread was a success thread and mentioned weight down. The title didn't tell us he was going to be showing off everything short of his manhood in the first pic.

I absolutely despise this "don't look if you don't like it" mentality around here. Common courtesy shouldn't be such a difficult thing and decency shouldn't, either. If a thread title makes it obvious (Ohhhh, here are my pics for bare butt Tuesday!), then of course I won't click on the title. But, if it mentions a weight loss goal or asks for opinions and I open it, I don't really want to see more of a person than I care to see. Why is that such a difficult concept for some people around here to accept?

Tank and panties is way different than complete nudity or body parts that should be covered by a traditional bikini being shown off, especially when they're cropped pics that show nothing else.

I'm not sure that is the same one the OP is talking about...this was a guy posting his own success thread and the nearly naked pics were his before shots, the after shots are in shorts...
