I don't care either way. If they have the guts to post, kudos to them, they're ballsier than I am.

Me, personally, (as in what I would do, not what I think someone else should do) I'd stick with flattering clothing as opposed to bikini shots. I'm just not as showy about my body, never have been.

I will not tell someone what they should/should not post - as long as it's in line with the TOS, then it's none of my business. And if it isn't, then meh. If you're on the Internet, make sure you have your protective gear on, because anything is possible.

To each their own. Enjoy your morning coffee.

To be fair, the creators of this site have asked people to keep photos modest, and I don't think it should be so difficult to do so. I've seen many people post photos that are showing their muscles in a totally respectful way. I don't really see why it's a big deal that they've asked people to keep pics clean, that is their choice and I'm okay with respecting it. They've made an awesome site that I appreciate SO much and I'm okay with respecting their rules.

This topic ALWAYS results in a huge argument, but you also are not forced to use this site, it is free, and if you disagree with the rules of the site you are free to stop using the site.

As long as Im not seeing crotches or bare breasts, its not a big deal in my opinion. The point of those photos is to illustrate progress. A bikini/shorts photo is fine by me, & as mentioned most times you need to click to access said photos.

You're also free to keep using the site if you disagree with them, so long as you abide any warnings from the moderators. People that make massive changes to their body want to show it off, and I don't think it's up to any one of us to tell them how they should best do that.

And obviously people disagree with the moderators all the time about what's appropriate. I am not telling anyone how to show off their body, but the site creators and mods are. Some people disagree with the policy and keep using the site, and keep fighting the rules on this one, and make a big fuss about it. I wish they would just "abide any warnings from the moderators," like you said, and go on about their business.

Virtuosity is a thing of the past just like black and white TV and record albums. With technology being what it is, it just fosters more narcissism. People who are insecure when they don't feel good about their bodies will find ways to cover up but when they shed the weight they sometimes do a complete turnabout in their behavior. It's a form of pathos, really. I'm all for having a healthy self-esteem but a lot of the posts you speak of are from people who are searching for compliments. It's very sad and superficial. If they had true self-esteem then how they felt about their bodies wouldn't matter whether they were overweight or not. The photograph is merely a way of proving they are part of the "cool kids" clique.

I think you meant "virtue". Virtuosity means great technical skill. :-)

Drrrr....yep. I sure did. Sometimes I put my underwear on over my pants too. :)

Thanks for the catch. I'd hate to think virtuosity is a thing of the past, as progress in science and the arts would cease.

Can you post of picture of that? (underwear over pants) Ha!

There is a fine line between showing off success and Porn.

If they aren't jacked up on their bed naked with their legs spread, it's not porn.

I am surprised that so many people have an issue with nudity or showing some skin. As an artist and photographer, I have done many tasteful nude photos.

Like others have said, if you are afraid you are going to see something you are uncomfortable with, don't look. If you are at work and don't want people to see you looking at indecent photos, your employer probably doesn't want you on non work related sites anyway.

Really? So you're ok with complete nudity on this site? Aren't there other sites on the internet that you can do that on?

Cool, I'm glad that you have. However, nude pics, tasteful or distasteful, are still nude pictures and that is something that MFP doesn't allow

And like others have said, WE CANNOT NOT SEE IT! We see a success story, we open it and the picture loads itself. (a) You're not supposed to put up these kinds of pics here since its against ToS and (b) This isn't a porn website...
As for your remark, rather than telling people what is and what isn't supposed to be done at work (Seriously, you know the rules an individual have at work....?) how about you actually follow the site rules and stop posting pics that're too revealing?

I love this argument where folks are going around and saying "well you don't have to look". The same way, "you don't have to show". If you got a problem with what the owners of this site allow, maybe YOU should be the ones walking away from this site rather than telling us that we should?

Well obviously you aren't the only one but I think it is silly to be bothered by photos of another person's body.

People who post their photos are inspirational and motivating and I say BRAVO to them for being proud of the work they have done and are confident enough to show it off.

And I would hate for this site to censor them.

    Agreed!!^^^^^

Can I just say thank you, for being so gracious about being gently corrected? I get so tired of seeing people lose their cool when others are just trying to help them be their best, and say what they actually mean.

    Two thumbs up. :-)

Ya...and anyone can down load the pics by right mouse clicking and saving them to their hard drive....they could be taken by anyone and posted anywhere!

I think a thread title with a NSFW rule would be nice (but I do understand that the site owners have made it a rule not to post revealing pictures, and I agree that their rules should be respected. Just saying, if they ever changed their minds, a NSFW warning would be a nice thing to have.)

That said, I love the pictures with more skin showing. Not for sexy-time reasons but because I love the inspiration of seeing someone with nothing to hide.

Lol I saw that too. Also have to disagree on the point of most people looking for compliments. Maybe compliment fishing to a lesser degree but I come into the success stories looking for motivation and inspiration. So when I post my goal weight pics they might have a little more skin than u might like to see but really.. Hard to censor things like this when speedos are legal. (and there's no requirement to be thin or muscular while wearing them!)
