I live in Central Texas-the Brazos Valley area-halfway about halfway between Dallas and Ft Worth and yeah, the heat/humidity is horrendous! My daughter and I walk as late as possible at night because she has no one to watch her small children early in the am.

I'm a native Texan, but I'm currently living in Cali and enjoying weather in the high 60s. While I like it not being 100 degrees, I hate that it's too cold to put on a swimsuit and lay out by the pool!

I must be one of the few who don't mind the Texas heat. Yeah, it's hot. Then again...it's Texas. It's part of what makes this place great.

What I don't like is the drought, especially the one we had last year. Kingwood lost a lot of trees and they are cutting them down daily. It's still a gorgeous place to live, but we have lost a lot of trees.

I grew up in North Dakota and let me tell you something: 104 is a lot better than -22. That's just me, though.

It's probably just an attitude. Texans think they can do most things and that attitude let's us at least try it.
There's less big city, more country, less government, more open spaces and an independent, self assured feeling in Texas.
Hard to describe, but Texans welcome everyone as long as you appreciate the State and want to make it better.

Hi from Beaumont where it is currently 91 degrees but feels like 150 degrees. Does sweating while walking to your car count as part of daily exercise?

Not too far away. Amarillo here. Outside in the heat and wind can sure be a pain. As big as I am, I am nothing more than a huge wind sock lol.
