Good grief, I choked up just reading thru some of the titles listed!

Puff the Magic Dragon has made me cry since I was a kid...something about the loss of innocence and imagination.

He Stopped Loving Her Today by George Jones. Mom and Dad's song always, and we lost Mom to cancer several years ago.

If I'm in a really sappy sad mood... this is an old one, it's the powerful way she sings it.

Roberta Flack - The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face

There are a few operatic arias that have driven me to tears..

Oberon, sorry for the loss of your father. I dont think the pain of losing someone you love ever really goes away. That song always makes me cry too!

I had never heard this one before and my son picked it for his mother/son dance at his wedding coming up in July. He went through depression when he was 16...was a very tough time for our family. Proud to say he is healthy and happy now....20 years late by Aaron Lines.

"Angel" by Sarah McLachlan has special meaning to me now. One of the assistant teachers at my daughter's dance school died of cancer in November at the age of 15. One of the teachers and her class danced to that song at the recital yesterday with a dedication to her. I didn't know her but my heart breaks for her family.

The song at the end of Pay it Forward (which is beautiful) is called "Calling All Angels" and is by Jane Siberry, if anyone wanted to look it up.

My ultimate crying song is, for some reason, "Valentine's Day" by Bruce Springsteen. There is one verse he just sings so beautifully:

Is it the sound of the leaves
    left blown by the wayside
That's got me out here on this spooky old highway tonight
Is it the cry of the river
    With the moonlight shining through
That ain't what scares me baby
What scares me is losing you

I think it makes me cry because I think about my husband. We've been together for 15 years, since we were 19 and 20. Sometimes you take each other for granted. This song reminds me not to do that.

Just today I heard "Holes in the floor of Heaven" It makes me think of my mom. I remember hearing that song with her and she said she liked the tune but she didn't like the workds because it made it sound like Heaven was a sad place to be. I still cry when I hear it though. She passed away almost 7 years ago. Miss her like crazy!!
