    Sissy's Song.....

Just thinking about this song... breaks my heart...

I lost my cousin a couple of years ago.. We were as close as close can be...
She was my right leg, my cousin, my best friend, my baby sister... I did everything
with this girl growing up, and the one person I knew would always be there for me..
I miss her so much every day... The song makes me think to the extremes...
They played it at her funeral..

Seriously, if you want to cry..
    this is the song..

Cats in the cradle, Harry Chapin. It's so true

Agree completely. It's scary how time flies and kids grow.

I don't think I saw anyone mention these, but they always make me cry:

Hallelujah - Rufus Wainwright version is my favorite
    Blackbird - The Beatles
First Day of My Life - Bright Eyes
To Love Somebody - the Ray Lamontagne and Damien Rice version
    Your Song - Elton John

Truly, Madly Deeply - Savage Garden

Slipping Through My Fingers - Abba

Both of these songs remind me of my late daughter who passed away when she was 15. Savage Garden was her favourite and the Abba song makes me think about her, and how she did slip through my fingers (metaphorically) x x

Pretty much the entire Amy Grant, Behind The Eyes album

Reminds me of when I lost someone I was very close with....that entire cd was played over and over, for whatever reason it brought me so much comfort at the time, but I cried every time I listened to it and still do to this day. It was the first time in my life that I truly understood how someone could die from a broken heart, in my mid 20's when this happened my heart ached for at least 6 months. Not a day goes by that I don't think of him in some way....and he will have been gone 15 years this Oct.

I'm big on lyrics and prefer music that is in some way moving. Good thing I'm not much of a crybaby...

"Empty" by Ray Lamontagne (especially the live version with that sad pedal steel) it's a sad song period, but I can't seem to eradicate the connection in my brain with my freakin' ex.. not that I still miss that relationship.

    "Heaven's My Home" by Sam & Ruby when I die/please don't cry/'cause heaven's my home anyhow

"School Teacher's Blues" by Joe Purdy

"Close Of The Day" by Sandra McCracken ... ah, grace.

"Never Let Go" by David Crowder Band

And yes to "Taps" as I'll never forget standing in Arlington National Cemetery as a 4th-grader for the proper burial of my great uncle's remains, finally discovered in the Netherlands after nearly 50 years of being just "M.I.A."
