Does the American Red Cross stalk you too?
They call me several times a week, even twice in one day sometimes . I've asked them to stop several times- they say they will but they keep calling. I just asked again, hopefully it sticks this time. I heard they only do it to O-types but I don't know what my blood type is. Does anyone else have this problem? Has anyone got them to stop?

I'm pretty sure they are vampires! They quit calling me when I told them I was pregnant (3 years ago). Maybe you could try that!0

 I have seriously considered this. My boyfriend says I should just tell them I dont weigh enough, which I almost dont but I dont think thats good enough.0 -

They are def. Vampires. If they had just one number, I would call them that on my phone hah. Its always a different number for me.0 -
There are several reasons why people might not qualify as donors -- look them up on their website, and find out if you might be disqualified as a donor. For example, if you lived in Europe for more than 1 year in back in the 1990's, you can't give blood (because of mad cow disease) -- so exchange students are out.0

I would NOT tell them you have an STD.
I would NOT lie to them to disqualify yourself. What happens when you WANT to donate?0 -
Here's how you get them to stop.
Tell them you lived in England from 1980 - 1990, and they won't call back. They'll disqualify you for fear of Mad Cow Disease..0 -

1. They fill up my voice mail with messages still.
2. Its not always the same number.0 -

This is always a good one! Actually, it disqualifies hubby, son and I. Just fib a little.0 -

And mine never leave a message.
Go with: I don't weigh enough. That way you can still donate when you want to.0 -
The Red Cross recently (year ago) entered into a contract with a company to assist with calling donors. The name of the project is DRMS (Donor Relationship Management Program) and the intent was that donors could identify how often and how (text, email, call to cell phone, home, work, etc.) they wanted to be contacted. Unfortunately the software has glitches and the result is yes, donors are called more often than they should be. Communications have gone out attempting to explain the problem and Red Cross management is aware of the extent of donors unhappiness when the glitches occur. But in all honesty, even when I get calls more frequently than I would like, I am also very aware that it is because there are patients in need. Only 3 out of 100 people donate blood. If you've ever received blood or had a family member who needed blood, you would appreciate those who do take the one hour out of their day to give.0

I have no problem with donating, I just dont want to be contacted as often as they do when its time I can donate again. Ill donate when I can. They call me in class, while Im having dinner, on Sundays etc... just rude.
edit: I hope their glitches get fixed, Im glad to hear at least they are trying.0 -
**** the red cross.
they dont want my blood because i get tattooed a couple times a year, and they dont any of my gay friends blood...because theyre gay.
the red cross goes to show...beggars CAN be choosers.0 -
tell them you have HEPATITIS, they will leave you strictly alone. NOBODY wants my blood, organs or even my hair and my dentist has to wear hazmat gear. That which does not kill me ...0
-
No, but AARP has been stalking me for like 15 years and I just turned 35 this year.0
-
They call my hubby all the time lol He just doesn't answer. They never call me, cuz I never give blood.0
-
They most likely will give up on you after a while.
The ARC would call me all the time, and I would donate when I could. (I'm A negative). They stopped calling when I told them I had been diagnosed with congestive heart failure. I take a blood thinner, bet that bag would fill up quickly now!0 -
