Does anyone pre-journal?

I have found that I am most successful when I pre-journal my week of food. This way, I only have to "think" about what I'm going to eat once a week. Every day is so easy as I just follow what's in my journal.
Am I alone in this?

Premature journaling? That can't be good.0

I measure my lunches and breakfasts for the week every Sunday. I like to got with my craving of the day for suppers. Whatever works!0

I journal the night before, and then adjust it as needed. If I had the ability to plan meals further ahead, I would.
Edit to add: I mostly plan out my meals, so I know how much room I have for snacks.0 -
i only do this for a day at a time and only what I am taking to work with me. Sometimes I have to modify, because I don't eat it all or someone brings in something else, but that does not happen very often. I don't think I do an entire week, I change my mind too much.0

Absolutely! I plan a day ahead to work out what I can have and then try my hardest to stick to it. Works well for me anyway0
-
I pre journal everything except lunch since I never know what I'm having and then I eat accordingly0

I do pre-journal as much as I can sometimes I just haven't planned far enough ahead to do. But I too find I am most successful this way.0

It's my new hobby...0

I pre plan my meals a week at a time. Makes life so much easier0

I sometimes do it the day before, so I can plan what to take to work with me, and what fits into my calories for dinner, so i can get stuff out of the freezer if necessary. I could never do an entire week though....never know what I'm going to feel like making!0

When I do it for the week, I find myself getting excited when I know a certain meal is on the menu! I'm a dork.0

I will do my daily log in the morning but not press complete until my day has finished. I find if i plan out my day and know that i have left no room for errors i eat better then if i just ate and logged it after. Same with exercising i need a plan because left to my own devices i will fail.0

I might have trouble sticking with the plan you describe however I often will look up a meal and plan out the remainder of a day.0

I log most of my day while having my morning coffee. Then adjust as needed if I skip or add something later.0

I am doing it every night and working on what to take, so in the morning I'm not running around confused and not sure what to take. Also making sure I have dinner planned for the next night, so I don't have the excuse of we have no food pulled from the freezer, or I have no idea what to make. So I'm kind of sorta doing what your doing! haha0

I do pre-journal the night before. Then, as the day I have pre-planned goes on I update the journal as I go. Since I have started doing this, it has really helped me stay on target and give me a sense of direction in my day.0

This is exactly what I do. Sometimes I'll plan breakfast or lunch a few days ahead, but that's usually if I make a big batch of something. Much less stress once I started logging ahead of time.0 -
I do that, too. As long as you don't forget to adjust it if something changes, I think it's very helpful.0

Yes, I pre - journal usually in the am for that day, except when I work then the night before I know exactly what I'm going to have. It helps me keep straight and narrow.0

I kind of do this...I'm weird in that I also count my "day's worth of calories" as running from 5:00 pm to 5:00 pm the next day. The reason I do this is because my husband cooks our dinners and I never know how many cals I am going to need to dinner. This way they go at the beginning of my 24 hour period that runs 5 to 5 and I can adjust from there, knowing how much I have left to eat until 5:00 that next night. As soon as I finish eating, I journal my dinner's calories then usually journal what the rest of that 24 hour's meals will be, knowing exactly how many calories I have left.0

I take a little time in the evenings and try to pre-load the following day based on what's in the fridge and pantry. It helps keep me on track and gives me something to look forward to.0

I do it daily, not weekly. I do plan my meals before grocery shopping, then in the morning I plan my meals for the day and put it all together in my food diary so I know what I am doing that day. It makes it easy to keep track.0

I usually to to plan my meals for the day in the morning, or the night before, and journal as I am planning. I cannot plan a week in advance, I've tried- but I can never predict what the other three in my family will want, how run down I might be after work, etc...0

I do sometimes, but not always.0 -
I pre-journal and it makes my life so much easier... I always pre plan my days and everything about it (im just one of those people) so it eases my mind and im more likely to eat healthy if its planned...i always leave about 300 calories of wiggle room though0
-
I can't do it, I have no clue what I'm gonna eat from one hour to the next........:)0

I could never plan a whole week like that, but I often pre-journal my day up except for my night time snack in the morning or the night before. Then I make adjustments as needed throughout the day. I use the extras leftover for my nighttime snack which is when I usually have my treat for the day.0

when i pack my lunch.. yes i do pre-journal. it works outs for me in the end. happy ending okay bye0

Occasionally, but never more than doing my day early, the day of. If I know what I'm having for breakfast and taking to eat at lunch I will log it and then edit it if needed. Usually it just helps me know what I can have for dinner when I'm figuring out what to make.0
