Wow! We've kept this team alive for about 10 months now. Members come and go, and some have been here since the beginning. We are a group committed to our goal and willing to talk out our issues and share whatever advice, warnings, or encouragement we can. Please join us if you are willing to Try Hard Everyday ~ if you are ready to be supportive, to deal with your issues concerning weight, and to keep striving to reach your goal no matter what set backs you may have.
Most of us weigh in on Friday and post like this:
Lulubar: SW 205/ GW145/ CW 185 = +2lbs
That's SW=Starting Weight/ GW=Goal Weight/ CW= Current Weight and then total + or - for the week.
I found this great site and thought I'd share it with you - a great site to peruse for motivation this week ~ check out:
http://www.primusweb.com/fitnesspartner/index.html
Have a great week all :drinker: And don't forget to Try Hard Everyday!!!!!!
I'm throwing down a challenge for this week gang: Eat your veggies! Get 5 servings a day (1/2 cup = 1 serving) And no, fried okra doesn't count! And neither do french fries! LOL! And if you have a great veggie recipe or serving idea, please share!

This sounds just like me! I would love to join!
I am trying hard everyday, I am willing to be supportive and really want to deal with my weight issues.
I started back 1 week ago and am also weighing in on fridays.
SW 226/ GW 143/CW 222 = -40 -
I would like to join the team, for sure.
I'll try to do some catchup work!
My name is Ali and I'm originally from Ohio, but in school in Chicago, and maybe going to Detroit next.
I am currently around 235, and have lost around 65 pounds since highschool.
I'm hoping to open myself to understanding why food has been such an issue in my life. Looking forward to trying hard every day.0 -
Welcome girls! I am so glad to have you on T.H.E. Team! We have a great group here and I know you will get a lot out of being here! I look forward to getting to know you:bigsmile:
My name is Lauri, friends call me Lulu ~ I am 49, married 25 years, work full time, have grown daughter and son. I've been at MFP since January of last year ~ lost 25 pounds then gained five back over the last couple of months.
I met with a nutritionist last Thursday, and will be getting in ALL my fruits and veggies this month - and eating only lean meats, for the sweet tooth only sugar free hard candies, sugar free jello, or other such low cal goodies. Taking the 3-6-9 fish oil caps daily and drinking 2 cups herbal tea daily. We'll see if these corrections help me get over the "two steps back" part of the dance I'm doing. And yes, this includes the Thanksgiving holiday! (However, I will eat pie!)
Prayerful! I can't believe you are leaving us, you have been such an inspiration and such a beautiful person to get to know! We each have to do the right thing for ourselves - that's one thing this journey has definately taught me. I wish you the VERY best in your continued healthy life and CONGRATULATIONS on all the success you've had on MFP! I'll miss you VERY MUCH:sad:
Everyone else - check in! And for some of you ~ see you on fb:glasses:
later gaters!

Thank you Lulu for starting the new thread... I was starting to get worried major...
My check in for the week was...
SW 168, GW 130, CW 150 = Loss of one pound
Welcome new members.
I hope everyone else comes back around....0 -
Good morning team!
I weighed again this morning and since it's not official, I won't change my ticker, but it did induce a happy dance. I knew I felt like I was floating away yesterday -- I made so many trips to the restroom at work. 2.2 pounds worth, apparently since my weight was 2.2 less than yesterday. Hopefully that means I'm going to have a fantastic number next week. I have been doing so well.
I'm about to get up and take a dog or 2 (I have 6 to choose from ) down for a walk at the canal before the rain sets in this afternoon.
I have 2 greyhounds that I normally take with me. The last time I took them for a long walk at the canal, I was *dragging* them back to the car & I had to pick them up (95 pounds each!) to get them back in the car they were so tired. Silly greyhounds -- all sprint no stamina.
Happy Halloween! Don't deprive yourself today but don't lose control, either!0 -
Sorry I forgot to include everyone's check in when I posted...

I am with you Lulu I am sad to see prayerful go. Hopefully she will come back and check in with us once in awhile and not totally divorce us. COme back for visitation LOL.
Welcome new ones. I've been doing this since June and the girls here are wonderful. My name is Debbie and I am 51 yrs old with 4 kids, (my baby is a senior this year ), and 1 grand daughter. I have always had trouble with my weight which has led to low self esteem. My mom was horrible about the way she tried to "help" me and I struggle with that constantly. So sometimes I need people here to lift me up and let me know I am ok. I think I turned all the girls here into farming facebook junkies and so they don't post as often as they used to so it's all my fault. LoL.
Speaking of which, Lulu why don't I have you as a friend on facebook???? Please add me Debbie Ballew Mickel. Last week I offered to be a buddy to anyone who wanted gentle reminding to drink your water and log your food. In doing that people helped me right back and I logged 6 days in a row. I missed the last 2 days though so I fell off the track. I think that having a buddy helps. One it reminds you to do it and 2 it shows others you care enough about them to try to help. so people I CARE ABOUT YOU!!
Lulu can you drink a V-8 in place of eating veggies?
There is 3 challenges going now
1) lose 13 in 13 weeks before Thanksgiving. I lost 11 so far
2) find a buddy and help them out
3) eat your fruits and veggies
Good luck everyone and welcome to a new adventure!!0 -
Welcome newbies! I'm Julie & I've been with THE team since September. These wonderful ladies have helped me lose almost 25 pounds in under 2 months!
I had posted my weigh in on the old thread:

I'm getting a couple servings of fruit in right now. I have fallen in LOVE with post-workout smoothies. This one is .5c nonfat plain yogurt, .5 cup frozen pineapple .5 cup frozen berries (raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries), 60 grams of banana, .5tbs half&half, and a little water. I added 1/2 pack of splenda with fiber, too because my pineapples are a little tart. YUM! Tastes like ice cream and contains about 200 nutrition-packed calories. And it really peps me back up which is good since I'm planning on 30 day shredding and biking later today.
I just got back from a 40 minute walk with my dog Mo. We probably walked about 2.5 miles. I have never worn my HRM walking before and I just take what MFP says I burned walking 3.5mph and go with that. But I wore my HRM today. I walked along the canal which has some mild hills but overall is pretty flat. I threw in a few minutes of jogging 30 seconds at a time (I want to start couch25k in January). I didn't even tire myself out, I turned around because Mo was dragging & it's a little warm outside so I didn't want him to get overheated (greyhounds are extra sensitive to temperature because they hardly have any body fat). I got back to the car and looked at my HRM and my mouth dropped open. It says I burned 624 calories! It almost always agrees with MFP so I don't get it... but I'll take it! :laugh:0 -

Hi team, how is everyone?? I have been attending a conference the past two days for work and have missed you all. I am a little frustrated with weight loss right now! Can't figure out what is going on. Lulu, I think you mentioned this a week or so ago, weird fluctuations in weight?? I weighed Thursday morning ans was pleased to see I was down about 4 pounds for the week. Friday, I was up three, for a total gain from Thursday of 7 pounds!!!! :explode: Geesh!!! This morning, I am up one more pound. I know I had some water weight gain last week from TOM, which sort of seems to be lingering.. I don't know what that is all about. Also, weird food cravings. So, I am not recording weight this week and am going to re-think things this coming week. I've been reading about food allergies and a bunch of other things trying to figure this out. On the up-side, I have had a great week of exercise, working out 5 days this week. So, any ideas will be welcome. I am still planning on the holiday challenge - I am confident I will get this under control soon. Take care, and Lulu, I accept your veggie challenge! 5 a day it is. Take care team! Welcome new gals!0 -

Even though I have checked in I thought I had better tell you all a little about my self.
I am a mother of 2 swimming boys 12, 10 and a bossy little girl 3 (she is not to bossy but trying to be). I am really proud of them, they are all great kids. I live in Australia so usually I am sleeping when you are all talking. I go to bed with noone online and get up to heaps of forum news to read. I started in june and lost about 20pounds and then put it all back on again. I am here to lose it and keep it off. I dont use the diary on this site becuse there are not much australian products on the site, so have to enter heaps of new food, but found an australian site to do it. But I LOVE the people on this forum so I spend my time here. I would really like to get to know all of you, and would really appreciate your support as I have to do everything on my own usually. Anyway thanks for having me and I look forward to getting to know all of you.0 -
welcome newbies! i was great on track in this group jan - june and then had a serious plateau that wouldn't ended (ended up being because of a medication I was taking) and then pretty much lost the spirit with traveling over the summer, and then gained back 18 of the pounds i lost. Halloween isn't helping me, all that candy. Well next yr I'm handing out pencils and raisins, no more candy at our house since apparently even the stuff i hate I will eat if I get a craving. So I'm trying very hard to get back on track but it's hard.
kristi i know what you mean about those weird cravings, i remember going thru that. i imagine i'll go thru it again since i'm starting all over...
i am the mom of 3 rambunctious boys, aged 6, 6, & 3. They are all firemen this Halloween since I am not wanting the "fights" so they are all the same thing, lol. 2 we adopted from Ethiopia last yr and one we adopted from state foster care. They are a handful! But they're good kids, although I had no idea what 3 boys would be like together... wow! wish I had their energy and ability to bounce off the walls!
this is a good group and if you are to MFP be sure to read the posts "what every newbie should read", you'll learn a lot.
One thing I've learned on this journey is that you CAN be successful doing it this way, without drugs or surgery. The other thing I've learned is that if you fall off the wagon, so to speak, it's very hard to get back on unless you do it immediately. If you think well, I've already ruined my eating for today, one more Oreo doesn't matter at this point - IT DOES. Every step away from healthy eating and exercise is a step away from motivation and willingness to continue. And then once you realize your "sins" - as in gained back pounds - it's even harder to motivate yourself to lose them AGAIN. So if you screw up - immediately start back on. I dont' care if you ate a whole pie in one sitting, immediately get back on track. Eat a healthy salad for dinner, don't skip meals if you screw up. And don't beat yourself up. Look for your triggers so that you can change your behavior. This is a lifestyle, not a quick diet. And in this lifestyle change, you will learn about yourself and you will make mistakes and learn from them. But overall - YOU CAN DO IT.
A new thing we've just started last week is Facebook buddies to nudge each other every day to drink our water and watch what we eat. So if you'd like to join in, please do so. Seems like most of us are on FB more than on here. Most of us seem to be FB addicts - ah, but that's another group we'll have to join, LOL.0 -
Hello everyone.
I hope you are still looking for more new members. My name is Victoria, I'm 41 and have been married for 18 years. We have no children but 5 spunky cats. I've been using MFP for 6 weeks now and enjoying it. I live in the middle of nowhere (northern Michigan) - I get excited when we make the hour drive to a city that has Walmart :blushing: The closest mall is 2 1/2 hours away :grumble: Needless to say, we have no gym close by so all of my workouts are from home. I have a very supportive family. My husband isn't using MFP but is eating better and exercising with me and has lost 10 lbs. My mother lives close by and she has lost 5 pounds exercising with me. I am looking forward to being a member of THE team.

Nice to meet you Victoria and welcome to the team. I'd be nuts if i lived that far from shopping!! I am not a big shopper but I have to be able to get what I need in a hurry. I live just south of Seattle in Washington. It is so good for you that you have the support of your husband and mother and people to excercise with. I have my family close by but to even get them to take a walk with me is like pulling teeth. I can't excercise except to go for a walk because of pain from fibromyalsia. Wish I had a walking buddy. Youve lost 12lbs that is so great. Keep it up. I've been on this program since June. I am amazed at how much I've lost. This works. The people here are great and no one judges you if you get off track they ry to help you get back on track. SO let us know when you need help and we will be there for you. Never hide when you get off track it makes getting on track harder, come running here and we will help you. Take care and have a great week.

Morning Almost hot. Well by the time you read this it will probably be YOUR morning. It will be a little harder for you to get quick support from us cause when you post a problem we will be sleeping but FEAR NOT we will wake up and come to the rescue!! We are here for you and will do all we can to support you. Biggest thing to remember is to not hide from us when you have a hard time. We have found that people who hide take longer to get back on track. You can share your joys and your sorrows with us and we will help you through. I don't just post my weight stuff I come here and tell ALL my stuff to get it off my chest then I don't eat out of emotion and no one has told me to shut up yet!
Well I am off to spend the day with my mom. She is leaving for Missouri on Thursday for a month. My dad is already there. She and I are going hopping for smaller clothes and then off to the casino!!
Have a blessed week all and may we all be big losers this week!!!

Welcome new members. It cool to have new people join us.
A bit about myself: I'm 24 and a mother to a 17 month old girl named April who has recently discovered how to take off her sleepers and diaper in the middle of the night. I live with my amazing boyfriend who is also a wonderful daddy. Right now we're living with his mother until we get some things sorted out and it's a living night mare right now.... We live in Cincinnati Ohio. I've been with mfp since June. This was the first group that I found that I liked right away.
This is a group where you can come and brag about your victory and be praised. You get support, and you get the advice and friendly suggestions I think we all need when taking on a battle like this. This isn't a diet... that's something that we all have to remember... it's a life style change.
I've learned that are little things that we can do to help us. I've made small changes and it's helped me out big time. I've switched a lot of my food... from white bread to wheat or even light wheat, vitamin d milk to skim, I've cut out a lot of my red meat. No more fast food except here and there... maybe twice a month now... If it comes in light, or low calorie that's what I get. My boyfriend is great about it and doesn't complain either which helps me out a lot. I do smaller food portions now. I have retrained my body physically and mentally now and I know when I'm full before I over do it. When I eat chips or fries, I make sure to leave some on the plate...
There are so many little things that we can do... but every body is different. What works for me might now work for some one else... but like Crazybee said, don't run when you fall off the wagon...come here...
Have a good one guys...

Good afternoon ladies,
Well, 2 mornings in a row, so I made it official and changed my ticker -- I've lost 25 pounds since September 8th! I'm so happy about this. I'm really doing it. And it feels great. I like putting forth the effort. I like being in control. My self-esteem has always been non-existent but I can actually feel it improving every day. I feel my depression and anxiety waning. I am so glad I found MFP. And I'm so glad I found THE team. It's not only changed my life, it's pretty much saved it.0 -
congrats jlb!!!!! WAY TO GO!!! You started on my birthday, way cool. I am so proud of you. Isn't it exciting? I have lost 2 pant sizes since I started in June and I am going clothes shopping with my mom today and I am excited. Self esteem is so important. Now go look in the mirror and tell yourself how beautiful you are and how wonderful you look!!0

Hey gang - Hope you all had a good weekend. Yesterday was great for me, very productive and just a generally happy day ~ I skipped Holloween COMPLETELY this year! Didn't buy a single piece of candy! Hubby and son went to the LSU football game last night with some friends, and I went shopping:bigsmile: Stayed out 'til after nine to dodge the ghouls and gobblins:)
Crazybee ~ I believe V8 does count as a vegetable serving. Yay for you for logging this week! I do better logging on the weekends than I do during the week ~ I just get too busy. I'm carrying a pad this week to write down every bite - so I as least make sure to get all my servings in - after meeting with the dietician, I am focusing more on food groups/servings for the next couple of weeks than calories - so, hopefully the pad will motivate me to keep on track~
JLB ~ girl, you are doing so AWESOME! I'm really proud of you! And I love the smoothie idea - ya know, I forget about smoothies and I don't know why cuz I really like them! And with your recipe, you get a dairy serving or two as well ~ great! Thanks for sharing that:)
StillKristi ~ Hiya friend! About the "up today, down tomorrow" weight thing ~ the dietician said that sounds like fluid to her (on me anyway). She said I should drink two cups of herbal tea a day as it is a mild, natural diuretic and also has antioxidants which flush the yucky stuff out. She, of course, promotes only fresh foods because she says the chemicals and preservatives in processed foods can cause all kinds of problems - including fluid retention and BM issues. Anyway, for what it's worth, that's the advice she gave me ~ I am really trying to follow it for a couple of weeks and pretty strictly to see if it shakes things up for me
Almosthot ~ We have been know to check in quite a lot around here! You are welcome to post as often as you like, we can be a talkative bunch at times:bigsmile: It's a pleasure to meet you! I'm glad you found an Australian site for logging food - that's a big help!!
Adopt4 - I see you are thinking about handing out pencils and raisins next year , that's a super idea! It's great when the kids are grown and you can skip it altogether like I did this year!! I figure I have three or four years before I am into the next phase with grandkids and have to participate again, lol, so for now I am "opting out"!
Pinbotchick ~ Welcome! We are so glad to have you! I grew up in the middle of nowhere West Texas, so I understand! I don't go to a gym either but exercise at home, which I think most of us on THE Team do ~ so we all share exercise ideas. And our teamies who do participate at gyms are great at sharing advice they get from trainers and such - another perk to coming here!
Pawprint - What a good post You have been doing such a great job ~ proud of you girl!
Here's my thought for the day: Motivation comes in spurts and is not something I can rely on for a healthy lifestyle. I wake up every morning and CHOOSE to put on clothes and not go into the world naked, I simply have to CHOOSE not to put junk and excess food into my body. It is a choice for me. For me, it's a matter of just NOT being lazy and of doing it over and over and over the right way so that eventually it is as common and natural as getting up every morning and putting on clothes ~
Have a FANTASTIC weeks my friends ~ Try Hard Everyday! Drink your water, eat your veggies, and take a really, really, really long walk!:drinker:0 -

Hey sorry I missed the weigh in I'll post my stuff tomorrow. I was at a woman's retreat sponsored by my church. It was really fun. I hope you all have a great week.0

Good morning!
Just coming on to tell you that after seeing the scale this morning, I have decided to change my New Year's goal! It was 230. Now it's 225! I think 230 may just be too easy for me since as of this morning I'm only 14 pounds away. 225 is something attainable that I can really push hard for.0 -
morning team! Yay jib, cool that you are doing so well on the new years challenge!! I hope to join you when I get this weird weight fluctuation thing under control! Lulu, thanks for the info. Any special herb tea? Or just anything herbal? Thanks! I am thinking if I am doing everything right this week and it still isn't heading in the right direction, I am gonna see the doc. I was just there about a month ago, and got good news in everything like blood pressure, heart health, blood sugar, etc. So, we'll see.
:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: Welcome new folks. :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
Since we are doing introductions, I'm Kristi - age 50, single, live in Salt Lake City, Utah, social work is my occupation and my passion -- drug and alcohol and trauma recovery therapy. I've been doing MFP since the middle of February this year. I've lost about 100 pounds during that time and a total of 130ish pounds from my heaviest weight. Still have almost 200 pounds to lose. This website has been the best thing I have ever done in terms of weight loss. Good luck to everyone!
Lulu, I like your thought for the day, too. I have been doing some study lately on the interaction between different foods as well as the way foods interact with us in terms of whats going on at the biochemical level. For example, something like a yeast infection can trigger cravings for comfort foods like white bread, pasta and such. And, if we aren't metabolizing nutritients from the food we eat, we may still feel hungry, even though we are really full. Like the feeling when you've just eaten and you feel really full, yet you find yourself standing in front of the fridge looking for you don't know what??? But SOMETHING!! Yeah. :blushing: Anyway, its pretty interesting stuff. Ok, enough rambling. Gotta exercise. Love you guys!

Hello Team!
Glad to see some new faces here! My name is Cyndi and Im a 36 y/o SAHM of 3 teens (17, 16 & 13) and 7 kitties (5 of which are fosters). Ive been with the group since last January and lost 40lbs in the first 7 months and have managed to maintain the weightloss. My goal is to get down to 200lbs for now and see how I feel once I get there to see if I want to lose more. I live about 5 minutes from Adopt4. My hubby and I have been married for 7 1/2 years. He works as a Systems Engineer (aka computer geek) and recently got a job that requires him to travel about 80% of the time.
Sorry i have been MIA for a couple weeks. Hubby was home for a bit and is now gone again for 2 weeks to Texas, then to Maryland. I was bad when he was home. He missed my cooking so he bugged me to make him treats like pumpkin pie of which we both ate WAY too much! (what can I say.. my pie rocks! lol) I can honestly say tho that I havent had much fast food at all. We got pizza a couple times and even when we did I didnt bust my calories. Ive been too busy playing catchup with bills to afford anything else and I just havent been in the mood for it anyway.
Halloween... what can I say... I didnt buy ANY halloween candy until halloween day. We normally run out but this year we didnt have as many trick-or-treaters so I still had 1/3 of the candy i bought left over. I got stuff my older kids like so if there was some left over, they would eat it fast and it would be lingering around for me to snitch on.. LOL! Im still a chocoholic, but I do have my limits! I ate enough mini snickers yesterday to last me a good month....
So, my Horoscope this morning was great....The time for rest is over and now you must get back on track. You've been distracted and focus has been regained. Time to stand up for yourself and what you believe in. A workaholic. You haven't listened to what your higher self has tried to tell you. Time to stop goofing off and get serious. You need to build a team to reach your goals. HAHA!!
OK.. so its SO TRUE!! and I am NOW getting off the dang computer and hauling my butt to the gym for a workout this morning...
Day 1 of C25K all over again :drinker:0 -
afternoon ya'll. i just spent hours with our bills, etc trying to get out of the monthly "hole" we are in (including payday loans to get by) and figured out what we need to do to stop having the payday loans or overdraft... it should only take us about 2 1/2 mos! Whoo hoo! Then we can start working on getting out of debt completely, paying off medical bills that are sitting, paying off the van early (truck will be paid off on the 15th, making a double payment!), etc. I really thought it would take much longer than that. We can truly have all our bills paid off (adoption loans, student loan, EVERYTHING since we don't have a mortgage) within about 12 mos. Wow. So I'm pretty excited, because at that point we will be in good standing to buy the house we are living in, which we really want to do. Although I may have to get a job part-time (trying to do that now) to make things move faster and to get more down money that the $15000 we already put down on our option. So I'm pretty excited to see light at the end of the tunnel - and the girl! Once we've paid off the boys' adoption loans and readoption fees (for citizenship) then we can save a chunk and I can go get my little girl! So that's even more exciting! The last adoption moved so fast - we were told 12-18 mos, it literally took 3 mos from start to finish - so we had to take out some loans to cover some of the stuff. So next time we want cash in hand and be prepared so we have no loans. I'm pretty psyched. I'm listening to an online audio book by Dave Ramsey - Total Money Makeover. We could do it much faster if we sacrificed a lot of things - by this I mean shutting off our cable, but since we rarely go out (maybe every 6 mos or so?), we don't go to movies, we don't do much of anything, that's our only relaxation and entertainment. I could save us $100 a mo by dropping it down... so we're considering that. But no tv??? Hmmm... Not sure we'd survive, LOL. Have to see if ALL our programs are available online for free first...
A lot of what I"m learning about finances also apply to healthy living. One thing he says with money that I can really see applying to weight loss is make 1 goal, and meet it before moving on to something else. So for money if you pay a little for this bill, a little for that one, etc you don't feel like you're getting anywhere and can get discouraged and quit. So pay off one bill completely (start with the smallest) and work your way up. That way you feel like you've accomplished something. I can see that applying to weight loss as well, if you change everything all at once and you struggle, then you feel like you've not done anything. Pick one thing and meet that goal, for example, drinking all your water. Then once you've got that down, cut out certain junk foods. Once you've done that, exercising 3x/wk. Once you've got that down, cutting down your calories. and so on. I know that since I've struggled the last few months that I have had a really hard time getting back on track - but in the beginning, I only changed one thing at once, so I need to do that now again in starting over. Ya know?
We have some Halloween candy left over, went thru the kids' stuff and pulled out all the snickers (too hard for them to eat) so junked out on that but once they're gone, the kids' candy doesn't tempt me. I still have a few baby snickers in the freezer. and baby snickers are not bad, anyway, cuz they're so small.
I'm not worried about Thanksgiving as far as weight is concerned because it's just that "one" meal in our family. Sure we'll have turkey leftovers, but I'm not keeping any dessert leftovers, people will have to take that home with them. Christmas is harder, though, it's a season. As long as we're not invited to any parties (usually aren't, LOL) then it will be just that one meal then too, same rules, no desserts left over. That's IF we have people over, if it's just us, then I'll make a batch of cookies and that's it, no pies. (mmm... pie....)
Kristi i'm interested in what you said about some foods you eat and you're hungry right away. I have that problem. What's the book or what's the general foods, or what's the foods you mix so you don't have that?
lulu LOVE what you said about how you CHOSE not to go naked each day... never thought of it that way.0 -
Well, I had a pretty LONG day. Started out at 6:00 this morning when the moon woke me up peeking through the curtains of my room. This.. combined with the kittens playing nascar racer across the foot of the bed (guess the full moon was getting to them too) was enough to make me crawl out of there by 6:30.
So.. I got up, motivated my kids off to school then played on facebook for a couple hours or so. Went to the gym and got some walking and elliptical in. Cough my brains out on the way home (still getting over that part of the plague from several weeks ago) but managed to keep some in.
Got home, showered... MIL called and said I HAD to come see her for lunch today... EEK!... good thing I went to the gym..her german cooking is enough to make you gain 5lbs just looking at it.. but its really tasty and I didnt let her overstuff me. Luckily it didnt take much resistance. I told her I had gone to the gym today and was back on my diet and she was really good about it!
After that, I got a haircut and decided I was gonna get brave enough to try to put highlights in my own hair. Shelby helped me a little with getting the back done and it turned out pretty good. Not the BEST job ever done, but it will work for now.. LOL
Decided to get off my behind and go to the first meeting for the local weight loss group I joined through meetup.com. Was VERY happy I did. Met some super nice ladies all with the desire to lose a few pounds and one of them has lost 135lbs total. Was a good first meeting for all of us. Just introductions and putting some goals on the table, then seeing who was available for what.. when.. to workout. Will definitely keep attending this group since I clicked with a lot of the ladies there, Im just not sure how frequently they will be getting together yet since this was the first meeting. Of course, they all wanted to know HOW i lost the weight I had and I told them "GO TO MFP & FIND THE TEAM" LOLOL.. so we may get a few more new people coming to find us.
So, I did what my horoscope said to do.. and I am now ready for bed!! Its not even 9:00 yet! Tomorrow is menu planning day & grocery shopping.. along with another trip to the gym. I'm a little sore, so I may need a swat with the slipper lulu!! :0)0 -
CC ~ Good to see you!

Jlb - Way to challenge yourself and adjust your goal! You go Miss Thang!!!! :drinker:
Kristi ~ I am certainly familiar with the act of standing in front of the fridge wantiiiiiinnnnngggg??? I am really interested in the "food interaction" concept as well. I'm gonna be doing some research too - so I'll show you mine if you show me yours, k?:blushing:
LI4G ~ Great to see ya friend! Pie? Pizza? Candy? Good thing that horoscope came along and rang your bell! LOL:laugh: Hope you had a great workout at the gym!
Adopt4 ~ I love Dave Ramsey's stuff. We did his workshop about 12 years ago (I should probably do the workbooks again!) It is a great system that requires commitment and strong discipline and you are right - the principles all apply to weight loss - taking small steps that give us the confidence to take the bigger steps! Love it!
You'll be glad to know that I CHOSE to get dressed again today, and I CHOSE to eat well and to drink my water AND to exercise! Woohooooo! That's a good Monday (and my co-workers were pretty happy about my getting dressed )

I'm throwing down a challenge for this week gang: Eat your veggies! Get 5 servings a day (1/2 cup = 1 serving) And no, fried okra doesn't count! And neither do french fries! LOL! And if you have a great veggie recipe or serving idea, please share!
Lulu

Good morning everyone,
Last night was a treat, my husband was off playing basketball and I worked out with mom. Mom made my unemployed brother cook dinner for us while we worked out :drinker: If only someone else would cook every night. Thank goodness my mom sent me home with cooked spaghetti squash yesterday. It was so good, I ate it all - so I got my veges in for the day. I think I was supposed to share with hubby :blushing:0 -
Hey,
so here it is a little late but worth it.
SW 195, GW 135, CW 168= 2lbs loss
I had fun at my retreat but came back with a bit of congestion/ cold. So I've been taking it easy. I expected to gain weight over the retreat but my cabin was the farthest from the main lodge and I walked instead of driving. I also did yoga both mornings that I was there. I'm really proud of myself for not eating crap over the weekend. There was lots of candy and temptations but I managed to stay focused on what I wanted for myself - to be healthy and good to my body,
Have a great week
P.S I'm almost half way!!!0 -
