    I have never restricted my fat or protein intake, only carbs (not counting those from veggies). Lost weight incredibly easily and never felt hungry once.
    Quite true for myself too, I find that the fat/protein combo keeps me sated and I rarely feel like I'm missing carbs (although the fact that I usually start the day with porridge or wholemeal toast probably keeps any cravings at bay, lol!)

    As for cheese ... I love it too, but best of all I love cheesecake. I clear the cheescake craving by mixing a 250gm tub of quark (high protein, zero fat soft cheese) with fruit and scoffing that.

    I refuse to have anything off-limits, unless its mad made crap (Big Mac, etc...), and even then i'll have a burger once a while, cos' i do love my fries.

    Same! I've learned the hard way that I can't swear off something I love completely!

    So get out your food scale, and eat some cheese lol! Sorry. I'm no help!

    I love cheese. My kids say that I eat a cheese salad cuz its mostly cheese.lol
  • taunto...i never said cheese was BAD...its just MY personal weakness looking for flavorable alternatives is all...i could eat in a sitting what most would have in two weeks ;-)

    I love cheese, could never give it up. Laughing cow is great! Sargento has ultra thin mild cheddar slices that are only 45 cals ea if you want the real thing but in a smaller quantity.

    saying that you will give up something forever is uhm well unrealistic. in my opinion this usually causes binges on whatever you "give up" if you wanna have it, just allot calories for it!
    simple as that

    I sooo agree with you! Couldn't live without it! However it is disappointingly high in calories... :(

    For me, I started off trying to cut it out completely because the amount of calories worried me, but now I work it in to my calorie goal because even a small amount of cheese is better than no cheese! I just savour it more :P

    I love light Feta in my salads. I was buying low fat cheese for my recipes but I discovered it actually took more cheese to add the same depth and flavor that regular cheese gives which kind of defeats the purpose of buying a lower calorie version. Now I buy a good brand of sharp full fat cheese and I find I can use less without giving up on flavor.

    I love cheese, but I eat it in moderation. I do like the kraft fat free cheddar cheese. But the reduced fat's aren't too bad either.

    I love cheese, and would never give it up. I use sharp cheeses, like extra sharp cheddar, or feta. You don't need as much and get a ton of flavor. I do sometimes use reduced fat mozarella, but generally use full fat cheeses.
  • missashley....no need to be nasty....if you Correctly read my post i never said i was permanently giving up anything...simply asked what others enjoy.....i have awesome discipline...and MY idea of eating way too much of it will vary from anyone elses personal idea of whats acceptable for them on their own individual fitness and nutrition journey based on their own pesonal goals.....so simmer down girl!!! we all need to remember we are here to support and build each other up not tear each other apart....well thats why im here at least :-)
    thank you everyone for the wonderful suggestions!!! a few new ones i am going to try for sure!!! :-)
    and thats all im posting on this subject :-) who knew cheese would cause such a rukus ;-)
