    dubstep /thread

i'm a 34 year old mother of two 14 yr olds and a 1 yr old. my eldest daughter especially dislikes and can't believe that her mother listens to dubstep ! i'm sure if her friends knew she would get quite embarrased. which i don't know why !?! i think if i had a mother thaat listened to dubstep, hiphop, (some) rap, all sorts of rock, country etc... i would be proud of having such a cool mom !!
oh well she thinks anything i do is embarassing to her nowadays anyways so it doesn't really bother me.

as for dubstep i just recently started listening to it and i think it's really cool. great to workout to, dance(exercise) to or just to sit and listen. the way they are able to put all those different tones and sounds together to make one smooth sound amazes the non creative me. that's why i try and seek out others creativity. lol

as for finding music i look through youtube, velo, grooveshark, billboard etc.... just do searches especially looking for higher bpm songs.

Currently I love Beatport for the varied dance & progressive house music.
One of my favs right now is Resurrection by Michael Calfan (Axwell Remix).
Also when the mood hits for heavy rock..Avenged Sevenfold, Volbeat & Tantric are some
    of my favs too.

I don't like lyrics when I work out. I like a strong beat to carry me along. I download hour long music mixes from Podrunner (Free!) Each mix is a combo of dance/house/club music set to different bpm (beats per minute). If I want to go fast and hard, I go for a fast bpm (like 170bpm) or if I want to jog I choose a little slower (150). The music pushes me. I feel like I'm work harder when I've got a good mix on.

    this is WAY helpful. thanks!

My current playlist is full of Incubus <3

Incubus-Make Yourself, this one is on there twice, go listen to it..you'll understand why =)
    Incubus-The Warmth
Incubus-I Miss You..(not really a work out song.. but its mine and my bf's song <3 )
    Incubus-Pardon Me
    Incubus-Privilege
    Incubus-Warning
    Breaking Benjamin-So Cold
    "-I will Not Bow
    "-Anthem of the Angels
    "-Firefly
    311- Come Orignial
    "-All Mixed Up
    Breaking Benjamin-Away
    Incubus-Clean

=) Tons of Incubus.. I also like Serj Tankian, System of a Down, Disturbed, Sublime (feel good music), Stone Temple Pilots, Pearl Jam..

I don't necessarily find 'Kick *kitten*' music to listen too.. a lot of it reminds me of certain people that make me want to keep going. Like 'I miss you' is a slower sweet song.. but it reminds me of my boyfriend. I wanna do this partly for him. So that motivates me.

Yesterday I was on the elliptical at the gym and watching tv with my headphones. The movie Blue Crush came on MTV and I was pleasantly surprised by it's awesome sound track! It was PERFECT for my workout!

I set up my MP3 player to shuffle so it can vary from anything from country to hard rock to dance music. For albums I highly recommend anything by AC/DC - The Iron Man 2 soundtrack is amazing although I highly recommend a serious warm up before you launch into it.
