Which is more you?

Do you feel better when you get praised for something that you've worked for and achieved, or something that is inherent to you?
"I love your abs" vs. "You have beautiful eyes."
Do you wish abs were like eyes and you either had 'em or you didn't?

I think I would take a compliment better if it was for something that I couldnt change. You can have the hottest abs & an ugly face. If you have the prettiest face but a horrible stomach then you can fix that, you cant fix ugly.0

" I love your abs" most definitely :P0

Accomplishments over Inheritance0

I'm greedy and crave attention....I WANT BOTH! :laugh:0

Compliments make me uncomfortable but if I were forced to choose I'd say the one that I've worked the hardest for. To say you love my eyes is fine but to say I have amazing abs/legs/body whatever means a lot more to me because I've worked hard to achieve what I have and the work is paying off.
Both instances make me uncomfortable and I never know how to respond. :blushing:0 -
The eyes have it!0

I'm more for a tit compliment. They are my best asset.0

I probably feel better about things that I've achieved or accomplished. Working hard and getting something makes me feel good about myself, but when others compliment my success it makes me feel even better. But I do love being praised about something inherent, who doesn't?

I've had both and didn't seem any different , but I think for most they would appreciate it more for the thing they had to work for.0 -
Compliments on my body figure0
-
Definitely achievements. Although, I' cursed with a pigmentation to one of my eyebrows which has turned it white, and has been like this since I was 14... Then I'd say inheritance because it's quite unique.0

Good question David
I think for me personally it's what I need validation on. I *know* that I'm a nice person, and I *know* that I'm intelligent. But if someone compliments me physically I still have that deep seated reaction of punching them and running away or dismissing it.
It makes me uncomfortable but it's also good to hear. But I guess I'd rather hear a compliment on something that I have control over. Like how strong I look or how far I've come. Rather than than something that I've just become used to about myself. i.e. hair.

I'd rather be told I'm funny or smart than anything about my body. Even abs.0

i'll take what I can get i'm not in the slightest bit fussy especially when it comes to compliments because I hardly get any especially from my husband who has had the compliment reducing brain surgery it seems (plays whiny tune on teeny tiny violin)0

Let's just break out the ol' early creeper FR right now!!0 -
Accomplishments....the inheritance thing is cause daddy did mommy0

I would much rather be praised for something I worked for than something genetic. Genes are just the luck of the draw, and the competitiveness in me much prefers getting complimented for something I worked hard building.0

I don't take compliments well, no matter what they pertain to. Having said that, I think i'd probably prefer being complimented on something i've worked hard for.0

Accomplishment.
But when my husband compliments my chestal region, I say, "Thanks! I grew them, myself." :blushing:0 -
Both are great...but accomplishment.0
-
I've learned to say "Thank You" when I am complimented.0

I figured this would be the reaction of most. I'm waiting for the outliers. They interest me.0
