Wasn't trying to be critical... I think they're great, I am just OCD about everything. IMO you are a genius for coming up with this recipe. Whether they are 40 calories or 55 calories each (and they ARE huge servings), that is still crazy for a tasty brownie. I could literally eat an entire pan of these on a workout day and not even make a dent in my diet (and that's partially why it matters to me, because I think an average serving for me will be like 1/3 a pan :D~~~)

I also got a different calorie count. I created a recipe and logged in all the ingredients (at 9 servings) and got 45 calories per brownie. It's good to know the exact amount because I am OCD like that. :)

Now I am going to go bake them!! Thanks!!!

Edit to add: I am using real sugar, so my personal recipe will be 72 calories. Either way, I am excited.

idk what i did wrong but i just made this frosting to go with my brownies. it was gross. too much vanilla maybe. but i threw it away after taste testing it. i tried adding stuff to make it taste better. but on the bright side i know now that they make fat free cream cheese and it was yummy (i ate some of the leftover from the tub lmao)

I'm in Australia and we don't have applesauce like they do in the US either. This is what I do:

Look in the babyfood section for 100% apple in a can or jar.
Or, look for apple puree in with other fruit snack packs.
Or look for pie-apple in the tinned fruit section.
Or, peel and quarter an apple and cook it in the microwaver then puree it.
Or, grate a regular apple (not quite apple sauce, but should give it moisture and sweetness).

I wanted to ask the same thing... Google search says it's the low fat substitute for oils in baking, so some kind of oil? I know then it must up the calories..
