What is your favourite recipe for a filling, energy bursting smoothie?

Just started making them and only tried one and I LOVE IT!

It has:
1 banana
360ml of semi skimmed milk
1/4 tsp of ground nutmeg
2tbsp of Honey

It's delicious!!

My hubby likes to add 2 scoops of vanilla icecream to build the cals up and make it lovely and chilled.

Tell us what's your fav smoothie recipe?

if you chop up the banana, and freeze it, when you add it to the smoothie it's like ice cream with out the calories :)

    my fav smoothie is:

    1 banana
    frozen berries
    frozen yogurt or skim milk
    honey

can't start my day without it!

    1 C froz blueberries
    about 5 lg froz strawberries
    1/2 C froz mango
    1/2 C froz peaches
1 scoop Garden of life Raw Protein Powder
    1 scoop Green Superfood powder
    5 drops stevia
    1 T Nutiva Coconut Manna
a few big handfuls of spinach
Coconut Dream coconut milk about 2/3 to top of fruit in blender

...sometimes I throw in a few cashews or cacao nibs. I spilt this with my 7 year old daughter (about 60/40) every weekday, and we LOVE it!
  • I mix:

    1/2 a frozen banana
    1 cup frozen blueberries
    1/2 cup frozen strawberries
    1 cup fresh baby spinach leaves {remove any stems}
    1/4 cup greek yogurt
    approx. 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk {sometimes need to add more}
    couple packets of stevia

Not necessary but sometimes add a few ice cubes.

I don't measure, just guess. Sometimes it makes more than I want. I said "sometimes" a lot. lol

Have any of you tried the almond/coconut milk yet? LOVE IT!

    8 oz almond/coconut milk
1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder
Frozen Bing Cherries (don't know how many...just plop some into the mixer !)
Fresh Strawberries....same as above....throw some in the mixer!
    .... and blend.

Yummy....also in the freezer aisle. GOYA has frozen mango, papaya, and a few other fruit pulps. It's very convenient and easy to add to your smoothies/protein shakes

    My favorite:

2 cups baby spinach (sub with 1c spinach, 1c kale quite often)
    1 frozen banana
1-2 whole kiwi's (chop off the ends but keep the skin on)
    1/2 avocado
    1 cup water

Blend in a Blendtec or Vitamix, and it is DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!! (It can work in other blenders, but the two listed are the best at breaking down the spinach and kiwi skin - velvety smooth!!!!!!)

Sometimes I will sub the kiwi for a peach, depending on what I have. I use berries sometimes too...

My go to is banana, mixed berries, and plain greek yogurt. I freeze the banana and the berries come frozen. That with the greek yogurt makes a nice thick creamy smoothie.

I add cocoa powder for a treat.

I'll also add whatever fruit i have on hand, and 9 out of 10 times it turns out really well.
  • 1/2 frozen banana
    1 TBS peanut butter
    1 C almond milk
1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder
    ice

    ..so delicious!

Mine is very similar indeed. I use the whole banana instead of half and skip the peanut butter. The vanilla powder I use lends the smoothie an almost coconut-y flavor. If I'm cutting calories I may also use a half-cup almond milk and fill it up the rest of the way with water. If I'm not cutting calories I sometimes add frozen berries. I've seen peanut butter used before this in a similar recipe. I've decided I have to try it!
