there are all sorts of double standards and annoying statements regarding weight.

my goal weight is 110 because i'm short. in fact, 110 is on the high end of the range of weight i should be. 95 pounds is actually ideal. yet i hear all the time 'are you sure your goal weight should be *that* low?' from taller people. um, yeah, i'm sure. you (general you) might look skeletal at that weight; i will just look normal. :)

sorry that the phrase 'you carry your weight well' is annoying to you. i think it is meant to be a compliment.

If a short person gains 5lbs it's very noticeable. If a tall person gains 5lbs it's not that noticeable. That is why us short girls say this to tall girls. We are just jealous of how you distribute your weight.

I'm 5'0". I was 125 and people told me I was big. I'm 113 now and I still don't look thin, just average.

If I were to gain 5 pounds, TRUST ME, it would definitely be noticeable. When I gain weight, it goes to my face fist so it's super noticeable.

I don't know I think it's kind of/sort of true for me. It's not about being tall though. I have this annoyingly long torso for my height. I'm just shy of being technically obese (my BF % is not low, btw), but my co-workers and friends never believe that when I say it. I hide my weight fairly well. I could gain 20lbs and people probably wouldn't notice it. Even the weight in my face gets hidden by the beard.

On the flip side, getting rid of this damn belly fat is taking for freaking ever.

"Oh it's easier for you to look skinny because you're tall!"

NO, that is NOT how it works.
I carry my weight well because I work out. I still weigh more than a lot of people who are "bigger" than me. It's not because I'm secretly fat and hiding it with my height. It's because I'm freakin tall so I weigh more.
I don't carry my weight well because I'm tall....I carry my weight well because I work out!!!!

    End rant.

I too am on the other end, I'm only 5 foot, but everyone thinks I'm naturally skinny because I am short. Everyone tells me, "oh you're lucky you get to eat whatever you want becuase you're so petite", but I'm "so petite" because I work my @$$ off to be this way.

People say the craziest things. Not sure if they are trying to be cordial, respectful or politically correct to spare your feelings. Either way, it's annoying.

I don't care what most people say about my body. It's about me, not them. That's about the one thing in my life that I will be selfish about.

Now - some people don't look heavier than they are because of their height; I do believe that. Conversely, some people look heavier due to their small stature. In other words, some people "carry their weight" differently.

Sorry...I just wanted to say! Carry On!

This used to be my excuse until South Park ruined it:

Lmfao....another one of Cartman's great quotes..."I'm fat but you're ugly. At least I can work out." haha

A bit like the classic Winston Churchill quote when his PA called him a drunk:

I may be drunk, Miss, but in the morning I will be sober and you will still be ugly.
