So I find myself pinning a LOT of recipes on Pinterest. But I realized two things yesterday. 1) the calorie count in the pin itself is usually WAY off and only an attention getter (example: smoothie with 1 tbsp PB, 1 cup of milk, and other stuff that claimed it was only 50 cals. I wish!). 2) I almost never make ANY food I pin! Healthy or not!
So yesterday I decided to change this, and made these delicious oats/PB/banana bars. 9 servings, 127 cals each (I used simply JIF PB and 2% milk). Filling, delicous, and easy! I'm thinking of using pumpkin puree next time instead of a squashed banana.
So my question: what's YOUR fave pinterest recipe? Healthy recipes always welcome but not required! Everyone has to splurge sometimes

Had to Bing Pinterest - didn't know what the H*** you were talking about. It's obvious I have never used this site so will have to check it out for future reference.0

I LOVE pinterest!! My fav are microwave potato chips. You can cut the oil nearly to nothing and cut back calories/fat. I saw one that used no oil. I made mine extra spicy so I ate them less quickly.

Here's another one. You have to scroll down a bit when you go to the site. I cut these much smaller for less calories. So fast and yummy.

I have a "Healthy recipe" board that I pin healthy stuff too. I have made some of them but a lot more I would like to make, but I would certainly do the math before I made them to be sure they really were healthy

I also have a board for "regular" , not so healthy, meals:

I have made a few recipes from my pins, but the quinoa pizza bites by far is my favorite recipe:

I used turkey pepperoni instead of regular and it brought the calories down. My family all loves them too.0 -
I pin a bunch of recipies to my "sweets" category, and I vow never to look at them again :bigsmile:0

Have you ever tried powdered peanut butter? It is 85% fat free. I know of 2 brands, there are probably more. There is Betty Lou's "Just Great Stuff" and there is also PB2. Perfect for in smoothies. Not that it will bring any smoothie under 50 calories but it does help. It's also great on toast, etc.0

My favorite "9-11 minute" Pinterest meal!
http://www.avocado.org/recipe-details/view/31513/california-avocado-fettuccine/
I use whole wheat pasta and either half the avocado/oil or double the pasta depending on how many I'm feeding. As written it's just too rich for me.0 -
I love Pinterest!!!! I love baking and the companies two IT guys love to taste test anything I bake - and I get my computer fixed/updated faster
I also use Pinterest for menu planning and I love puting together the crock pot meals and pre-packaged meals! they also have great snack idea for packing the kids lunches and for sports travel bags!!
I have noticed some of the recipes are not so healthy, but you can always change some stuff to make it more healthy (ground turkey, ground chicken) but not matter what it is still better than any drive thru or pizza delivery when you are short on time! but it also gives you the options to search for low cal or low carb and I got some great ideas from that.
and the exercise ideas and tips are great!!! free!!!! and the girls and I can do them at our desk at work and challenge each other over lunch or breaks!!
i highly recommend!0 -
