Shoulda had that quarter pounder with fries if that's what you wanted...now you're hungry and crying! In my opinion, it's okay to splurge *sometimes*....I have McDonalds (or where ever else) sometimes and I don't beat myself up about it. I have my yummy, bad-for-you meal, and move on to better things. Just do better the rest of the day. I don't deprive myself of the things I like all the time....everything in moderaiton!!0

Very true. But, for me it's a very slippery slope. Hell, it's a full on slip-n-slide that goes on forever.
I am tryin....0 -
good for you!
but an apple instead? haha I'd still be hungry.0 -
Congrats!!!! Sometimes we crave things that we don't really want. Your body will thank you later!0

Sucks to be you.0

If you continue to deny yourself, you might end up gorging. Why not have the burger and fries and follow it with a jog?0
-
Burger or not, if you wanted a meal and replaced that with AN APPLE of course you're hungry. You should have had a meal.0
-
No, didn't replace an entire meal. My former self would have had the burger/fries as a snack!
The apple was just to curb the mid-afternoon munchies.0 -
good for you!

yeah, I'd at least have to have a turkey sandwich and cottage cheese with that apple.0 -
well you could have compromised and had the burger or the fries and not eat both lol. I do that a lot I think which do I want more and I have it and still stay within my calories goal. But I also have cheat days from time to time :}0

Awwww... I know how you feel. Maybe make your own burger at home with lean meat next time?? I try to do that when I crave "bad" things... I will try and make a healthier version at home.0

I am trying my best.0

I do that as well.0

I think what she was saying is that, she was only craving the taste of the hamburger and fries, but would have eaten the whole thing previously, and THEN went home and had dinner too.. I've been there. If an apple was all it keep her full until she eats dinner, what's the issue??0 -
I always want a quarter pounder with cheese or a big mac. Guess what I am from Texas and my name is Jeanne. Were twinkies.0
-
If you're going to have a burger better make it a great one, not one from Micky D's.0

I totally get this! Good job!0 -
Hmmmm... an apple is certainly not sustaining by any means!
If I were hungry enough for a 1/4 pounder and fries... I would have to at least have a sandwich of some sort with the apple!0 -
I think you did great, and you deserve to give yourself kudos for making a healthy choice, if all your body really needed was a snack. If you are still hungry 15 minutes later, I would recommend something with protein. Sometimes a cabot 50 calorie sharp cheddar cheese wedge is a good solution for me.0
-
Great self control! Over time I bet that apple will become what you look forward to!0

well done0

i woulda got the qp, no fries, no bread.
or, 2 mcdoubles on a bed of shredded lettuce with mayo, no cheese, extra pickles.. mmm heaven. id eat it everyday if i could.0 -
What about something with protein instead? (more filling) For example, low fat yoghurt, cottage cheese with carrot sticks, hummus (chick pea dip) and carrot sticks, low fat crackers and low fat cheese? I also find hot drinks (i.e. decaf coffee in my case) help me feel fuller.
But very well done! Keep up the good work, on step at a time.0 -

But I don't even have to be hungry to want a hamburger.. they are one of my weaknesses and I'll eat a whole one even if I'm not hungry.0
