itching when running! help!

Yup. I get it too. Mine goes away once I get "conditioned" to the level of exertion. I consider it my "punishment" for slacking off all winter.
I'd suggest gradual warm up to full speed to possibly lessen the flare up. Extreme temps also trigger the itch, so keep that in mind when you're considering going out for that frigid AM run in February...
If it's driving you bonkers, you might consider trying a low dose of diphenhydramine (aka Benadryl) beforehand.*

I get that too, but I do not run, I speed walk. I realized that when I wore knee length shorts it was worse. I went and got some running shorts and it was a little better. Since I have lost inches, it isn't so bad.0
