    Me and Bobbie McGee.

Tried to explain it to my daughter, Holland, once, when she was about 11. We were driving home. My father had just died. I tried to explain the line "I'd trade all of my tomorrows, for a single yesterday" by relating it to how much my Mother missed my Father. Couldn't finish. Got a lump in my throat and teared up. Just like I do right now. She looked at me like I had another eye growing in my forehead.

Kris Kristofferson is a legend. Sunday Morning Comin Down is another song that gets me choked up.

Another one that gets me is "Breathe" by Michael W. Smith

This is special to me because the first time I heard it, it was TRULY a God moment.

I had just been talking with someone about Philippians 4:13 (I can do all things through Christ, who strengtheneth me), and when I got back in my car, God prompted me to look up 1 Corinthians 10:13. The song "Breathe" was playing in the background while I was reading that verse:

"There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it."

And all I heard as I was reading it was:
    "this is my daily bread
    this is my daily bread
Your very word spoken to me
And I, I'm desperate for you
    And I, I'm I'm lost without you"

That was God telling me that I could overcome anything, any temptation, any trial, as long as I kept Him in my life.

    Great song. Great explanation.

3 Doors Down - Let Me Be Myself. For several reasons, that I won't go into, that have nothing to do with cavemen or GEICO.

Mercy Me - I Can Only Imagine. Song played continuously at a good friend's funeral.

of course, how could I forget Taps?

My grandfather died at 89 years old - he fought in WWII and the Korean War and was buried with full military honors. It was one of the few times i've seen my dad cry. I'm tearing up just thinking about it. It was beautiful in a sad way.

    and this one too:

    Fix You by Coldplay

When you try your best, but you don't succeed
When you get what you want, but not what you need
When you feel so tired, but you can't sleep
    Stuck in reverse

And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can't replace
When you love someone, but it goes to waste
    Could it be worse?

    Lights will guide you home
    And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

And high up above or down below
When you're too in love to let it go
But if you never try you'll never know
    Just what you're worth

    Lights will guide you home
    And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

Tears stream down on your face
When you lose something you cannot replace
Tears stream down on your face
    And I...

Tears stream down on your face
I promise you I will learn from my mistakes
Tears stream down on your face
    And I...

    Lights will guide you home
    And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

I was just thinking of this one yesterday - it does mean a lot!

Right now I am loving "Wanted" by Hunter Hayes. I can't explain the reasons. There are so many. It just makes me teary eyed EVERY TIME! What girl doesn't want to feel wanted??!?!
