You don't cook it. It "cooks" in the fridge overnight. You eat it cold.0 -

Pure delicious.
I do overnight oats with just oats, blueberries, milk, and in the morning I mix in a little vanilla protein powder. yummy.0 -

Chia seeds are kind what makes overnight oats work. It makes all the stuff gel together and, well, work.
Also super health benefits - 0 net carbs, 3g protein per tbls, and a boost of omega 3 with some delightful fat grams. i.e. don't omit it0 -

I've made them with chia and without chia several times and they work ok without, so don't be discouraged from trying these even if you can't get chia seeds!
Sometimes I do a very simple version with just rolled oats, fat free yoghurt with fruit already added into it and apple juice.0 -
Where do I find chia seeds?0

I made a few from http://www.theyummylife.com/Refrigerator_Oatmeal last night and I ate my first one this morning. Because I am so new, I was missing some of the sweet, but decided next time to mash up some fresh berries right before eating and toss those in to sweeten it up for me naturally.
Super easy.
Super good for you.
Super tasty.0 -

I eat my version of this every morning and I change up what I use to keep me interested. (about 3/4 cup per serving)
I suggest a trip to your local bulk food store - much cheaper.
Whole steel gain oats are better than quick oats nutritionally and `cook` overnight also.
As the main ingredients I use two of:
Steel oats
Kamut or
Rye flakes
To keep the variety going I also add one of:
Quinoa
Buckwheat or
Millet
To add some nuts I add one of:
Pecans
Cashews
Almonds or
Hazelnuts
For seeds I add one of:
Sesame seeds
Sunflower seeds or
Flax seeds
For berries I add up to two of (frozen or fresh):
Strawberries
Raspberries
Blackberries or
Blueberries
For milk I use one of (unsweetened):
Coconut
Almond
Soy or
Rice
Usually the berries make things sweet enough for me, but if I want a little more I sprinkle shredded coconut on my serving.
I make a batch every three to four days and prefer to let my serving reach room temperature before eating - it`s more flavorful to me.
Since I starting eating breakfast everyday, I`ve been loosing weight!0 -
I should add... I measure by the handfuls, bunches and sprinkles!0
-
Yum! Thank you.0
