I got this one the day after a turned 18. It's a popular feminist symbol. I have it on my neck (my spine) to remind myself to stand up for what is right and just, and be strong in what I do.

I got this one about a week later, it's a tribute to Prince Edward Island which is where my family is from and where I have the fondest memories growing up. I have always felt great comfort in water and the ocean. This is so no matter where I am, I will always have my foot in the ocean.

    I hope these work!

yay for feminism. the butterfly on my arm is my feminist symbol....it is actually a symbol from the transgender community, representing freedom from gender norms. i'm not trans, but i support being whoever you want and not reducing to societies standards.

My planets STILL aren't finished. I have another session tomorrow - getting the rest of the stars done, some more detail, and fixing up Uranus.

    WORST. PAIN. EVER.

I love it, though. The tattoo, I mean, not the pain.

(it looks better now, it was dull then because it was still healing)

I've posted this in other places before, but I'll post again

    078.jpg

It's on the top of my left foot. I also have a Celtic trinity knot on my right foot with some vines but I hate it because it wasn't done right (my reward for hitting GW is actually to have the Celtic tattoo covered). I have a cross on my left wrist too (which is covering up a scroll thing that used to be there- I want this one covered up again though- some "artists"!- *sigh*).

    That's super cool!
I love having the symbol on me. Even if it does attract some not so nice attention from narrow minded people. I love tattoos with meaning!

I have a few...one on each ankle (one to cover up a scar, the other with a sun/moon/stars/planets for my kiddos, but the biggest is my back. At first I had a butterfly that I designed (18!) and then I got the claddagh tattoo when I got married (19!). Hubby has a matching one.
    My back before

Then, hubby drew out a tree based on the pear tree in our front yard. This is a work in progress that starts in Spring, and will work its way into fall hues and bare winter branches. I'm about 16 hours in.

    My back most recently:

My 2nd was the Gemini constellation on my foot...this is the best pic I have of it...

    34s49k9.jpg

3rd was my chest piece - it is in my profile photo (though backwards) it says 'all that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream" it is from Dream Within A Dream by Edgar Allan Poe

4th was these poppies that go over my shoulder from front to back

    33zd3yf.jpg

and my most recent (but will def not be my last) was my French Bulldog, Sumo, who passed away

Love seeing the creativeness of people's tattoos, but alas I don't have a single one. Hubby and I will probably be one of a very few without (I'm chicken). However, my 61 year old mother got one 15 years ago when her father passed. She has a shamrock on her butt so she can tell everyone to kiss her Irish *kitten* in memory of my Irish grandfather :)
  • Great tats!! I'll have to post mine later.

I dont know if this will work, but I'll try. They are on my profile.

First one is stars, the star on my shoulder is the Northern California star and the Latin above it is the Oregon State Motto " She Flies with her own Wings" alis volat propriis

Both are my home I got it just before moving back to Oregon.

The second my sister has a match on her other wrist. The 3 doesnt mean 3 sisters, its kind of a lucky number between all us siblings.

I think I want One more to fill in the big star on my back, I want my mom (shes and artist) to design a scene to fill it)
