I really dont think its a doable thing for me to stick to 1200 so im thinking 1500 is a good number since I plan to work out at least 6 days a week. What do you guys think? How much are you eating and whats been your results? By the way I'm 5'7 currently at 175 I want to get to 135/140 BMI is in a healthy weight range at 159

1200 and a workout? Yeah, I agree.
I eat about1500 a day, whether I workout or not. I don't believe the body functions in discrete 24hr periods. :-)
ps: I'm 47 years old, 5'6" and 132. (my BMR is 1330)0 -
I eat 1500 thats what my dr told me to do0
-
I have MFP set for 1390 calories and then I workout 6 days a week and eat back most of my exercise calories, so I'm usually eating around 1700 calories.0
-
I eat back ALL of my exercise calories. My net goal is 1200 on workout days, 1400 on other days. When I work out, I usually burn 300 to 600 calories, so on those days, I'm eating 1500 to 1800. I'm 5'4" and still 'obese'0
-
I'm assigned 1270 calories (I'm short) but I usually try to exercise myself ~ -100 to -150 cal/day, so I eat closer to 1400-ish really.0
-
I set my goal for 1680 my bmr is 1380...I try to at least net my bmr and I eat workout calories as well.......0
-
I generally net between 1200-1500 calories a day (usually closer to 1200), I eat back some/most exercise calories (or spend them on something awesome like rum and diet cokes).
I'm 5'8", 119 lbs and I exercise 7 days a week (20ish min before work, then either a 4-5k run or 45 minutes of strength on alternating days, I'm starting Insanity when the DVDs arrive).0 -
My calories are set at 1340 on MFP.
I usually exercise four to five times a week, gaining me anywhere from 150 -400 extra calories.
On days I don't exercise I stay at or below 1340.
On days I do exercise I eat net 1200-1400 depending on how much I exercised.0 -
Okay I just did the math for the last 5 weeks and my average is 1736 a day, but the daily numbers are all over the board from 1200 to 2600. I've lost 10 lbs in 5 weeks.0

I'm 5"7ish 160.5 started at 198lb beginning of this year...my settings are at 1200 calories but I eat anywhere from 1200 - 1500 plus exercise almost everyday.0
-
I try to eat between 1800 and 2100 a day (even rest days) and I exercise 4-5 days a week (usually burning 500-700 calories a day - training for a half marathon and doing spin classes and heavy weights for cross training). I'm 5'6" and currently weigh 193 (SW was 230).0

I eat 1200 to 1300 a day and dont eat back any of the calories i burned unless i'm hungry.0

You read my mind with this question. I have trouble netting even close to 1200 cals on days I really exercise. When I cut junk food out, eating even 1200 seems hard for me! But on days I don't exercise, it's easier to net 1200 or over. So I look forward to the responses and their results. I honestly think I lose more weight when I eat more. But, I am experimenting with eating less this week to see how that works.0

between 1500- 1700 depending on my activity. I did the 1200 ish for a while, no benefit. Well, no *better* benefit.0
-
I just upped my calories to 1500/day and I'm consciously trying to hit it with or without exercise and without empty junk calories.0
-
around 14000
-
I hover around 1400. But if I'm hungry due to lifting, I eat.0
-
I'm new but until I can go and workout, I will eat about 1200 @ day. Once I start to workout 3x a week I may add more to my plate.0

I am about 5' 7.5 and weigh 166 lbs.. My starting weight was 179 lbs. MFP says I should eat about 1500 calories, but it varies sometimes I am 300 cals. under and others only about 94 under.. I try to walk about 2 miles at least 6 days a week. Except for this week, it has been too hot to walk outside and walking on the treadmill gets kinda boring.. (I know, excuses). Right now I have weighed about 166 for at least 3 weeks now, but I do notice some of my capris are getting looser.:)0

I have my cals set to 1500. I am 5'6 and weigh 160. I started at 199 and have been doing this same thing to lose.
I work out about 4-6 times a week. I usually eat back around half of my cals. That is what works for MY BODY. I had to play around with it a little to see what worked for me.0 -
Around 2000 net, on average.
I'm 5'9" and 160lbs.0 -
I'm 5'7 and 158 lbs. I'm doing Insanity 6-7 days a week and shooting for 1800 calories a day.0
-
Hi, can anyone tell me how can I start my own forum topic?0
-
I have mine set for 1390 (half a pound loss per week) and then I eat my exercise calories back. So depending on my workout anywhere from 1700-19000
-

-

I burn about 800 a day so this works for me:)

i try to net my BMR (1790) .. so some days ill eat 1790 and some days i eat 2500, depends on exercise0
-
I'm at 1400 right now. Once I start to lose, after a few months, I'll probably drop it to 1200. Especially the more I work out.0
-
