The one time I tried jogging a mile I did it 20 minutes :blushing: I need to work on it. I'm horrible at running. Any tips on how I can improve my endurance?

I'm still very much a newbie, and one with a previous ankle injury to continue to watch closely, but I can run a 12 minute mile right now and honestly in my shape I'm pretty pleased with that!

    I run 5kms (3.1 miles) in 30 minutes, so I'm a tad under 10 minutes/mile.

I am now averaging 8:20 on my 10k runs. Today I ran 4 miles and really pushed the last mile which I ran in 7:46.

Hmmmmm, I'll have to run a mile to find out but I average about 10 min per mile on 10km training runs (a bit faster for the shorter ones and slower on longer ones)

    1 mi = about 8:30
    6 mi = about 9:15
    13 mi = I'm hoping under 9:30

I just ran a 1500m race in 5:14, which is 5:37 pace, so right around 5:40.

Try breathing exercises to increase your lung capacity. Pretty much take a deep breathe, take sips of air when you think your lungs are full. Exhale, when your lungs are empty, try to exhale even more.

I ran my first 5K last month and did it in 33 minutes 27 seconds, so I'm just over 11 minutes/mile. I usually do a 12 minute mile on my treadmill and it's still a struggle to run those three miles. I'm hoping to get my time down and do another in a couple months, but I've really only been able to run the full three miles for a short while. I would like to do a 10K this fall too and I think losing some more weight will help immensely so I'm not carrying such an extra load while trying to run.

I have just started running too, and I could only run half a mile at first now I'm up to 2 miles in 22 minutes! It took me 2 weeks at 6 x's a week to get there:smile: Just keep trying for a lil more each time and you will get there.

It takes me about ten minutes to run a mile, that's at a comfortable pace. I finished the couch to 5k program a few weeks ago, so I'm happy with that time at the moment.

My best mile is 9:10 - hit it during my first 5k race. But my average mile on shorter runs is around 10 or 10:30 - longer runs, around 11:30 (working on 10k right now).
