I call it "soda pop." I don't know why, I grew up between Virginia and New jersey and from what i can remember everyone has always just called it soda where I've lived...I just like adding the word pop, i guess. =]

First term back in 1700s was ´soda water´.. so the most accurate one would be soda, dont even know where the term ´pop´ came from.
Again, for me a pop its a popsycle, not a drink.

NC here & we call it soda. I do have family in NY, Baltimore, and Jersey area and they all say pop or soda pop. I guess that it all depends on where you are from?! *shrugs shoulder*

Pop in the Midwest. Soda on the West Coast. Bad whatever you call it everywhere.

might be soda in California, it's pop in Oregon and Washington....l prefer mine flat & caffeine free. ( on the one or two occasions during the year I drink a pop, that is.)

It was pop on the west coast where I grew up, and is still pop in Saskatchewan. But I know that I've gotten funny looks in a number of the southern states when I've asked for pop, rather than soda.

It was always POP in Eastern Canada as well... I think it's just some states that call it Soda
