Daily Sugar Allowance?

I've noticed on most days I go over my sugar allowance. However, most (if not all) of my sugar comes from fruit and pure protein bars. Is that a bad thing? Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • My personal choice is to keep sugars below about 15 gm/day, even though MFP allows 24. I don't pay attention to the source of the sugar (fruit, vegetables.) Nor do I add sugar to any of my food. I'm losing weight so I guess it's working.

    I am way over my sugar all the time!!!! I only have to eat a banana and a muller corner yoghurt and waheyyy I am already over ...... plus I have a really sweet tooth so the things I think are sugary are choc, biscuits etc so not even fruit does it for me. Its annoying but I am losing ....

    I believe that sugars from fresh fruit are nothing to worry to much about. As long as your not exceeding your sugar limit from artificial sweeteners, high fructose corn syrup and things like that it's not too much of an issue :)
