    How can you calculate body fat percentage based on sex, age, height and weight
    Exactly the same way as you calculate BMR based on the same inputs - curve fitting to measured data.

    I just put in 8 stone 7. Which is perfectly healthy for my height, and it still said I had more body fat than the rest of the world. Load of rubbish!

    My bmi is 24, I less body fat than 80% of females aged 45-59 in the UK 83% in USA but, here in France only 47%. I have less body fat than 57% of females aged 45-59 in the world. I am most like someone from Cote d'Ivoire (Ivory coast to me).

    I love this though Highest bmi in the world, people from Micronesia (no I didn't make that up). Ironic or what!

    It told me that either -
    1) I need to move to Micronesia - where I'd fit right in
    or
    2) I need to keep on with this healthy eating stuff to fit in where I am

    Micronesia looks a bit on the hot side for my taste, though swimming about in those warm blue seas is tempting.....

    Being declared fatter than 96% of women in my age group is a bit of a wake-up call.

    THE GOOD NEWS is that when I put in my starting weight I found I was fatter than the average for Tonga - in fact I was fatter than 100% of women in my age group. :huh: That's a peculiar statistic.....
