Okay so I have to ask the ladies their opinion now on this, me i dont mind the strech marks on my wife i agree with the post about the tiger and earning stripes
what about stretch marks on guys? not sure if they fade or are gone when i iwll lose my weight but now i am curious0 -
As a female with stretch marks...I hate them...If I ever see another woman out where they are showing enough skin where I can see stretch marks, I just want to smack them...The faded ones are okay but the fresh redish ones just absolutely GROSS me out. It's just me personal opinion, though. But Im the type who wants to look as good as possible at all times, so Im probably a little different than a lot of people.
They fade eventually to the white ones...once they do that DO WHATEVER YOU WANT! Until then...hide that shiznit! Lol0 -
To be honest, I think most people don't care about stretch marks on another person, just as long as that person has a relatively rockin' body.
At my current age of 24, I have a TON of stretch marks all over my body - and they weren't a result of pregnancy, but rather simply put, weight gain. I suffered from depression from age 13-17, and consequently went from 120 lbs to 160 lbs at the height of 5'1".
Lots of weight gain at a short height = me getting stretch marks on my upper arms near my armpits, pretty much all of my inner thighs, top part of my breasts, and even a couple on my upper calves near where the knees bend. It looked like a psycho cat scratched me all over.
I finally got out of my depressed stage (I swear, the hormones played a huge part), I finally was able to VERY slowly drop the weight starting from age 18. Took me 6 years to finally get down to my current weight of 136 lbs. All my stretch marks are no longer angry red, but silvery and white - almost invisible unless the light hits them at an angle. I'm not skinny by any means, but my curves are showing in a healthy way.
I was incredibly conscious of my stretch marks, but after going out on several dates with very good-looking, kind, smart boys who saw the tops of my breasts with the striped silver-white stretch marks, I realized, the only people who care so much about stretch marks are ourselves and the few handful of dumdums who are obsessed with human Barbie dolls.
Personally, I don't care about stretch marks. I've seen tons of good-looking muscular and ripped guys with stretch marks on their thighs and upper arms like me.
Although, I do have to say, red stretchmarks are kind of scary. But, just give them a few months and they'll pretty much fade away anyway.0 -

my husband has some on his arms and hips, the ones on his arms are faded to silver already but his hips are fresh, doesn't bother me at all. I guess you could say I'm bias though0 -
I must admit, I have stretch marks from just being chunky. I don't notice them as much as I use to because I'm in MUCH better shape, but they are still there, and I still hate them. :-( Maybe someday I'll feel better about them. Right now it's a constant reminder that I've been out of shape my whole life and am STILL not there.0

I actually love mine! but they're thin and light... I think stretch marks are kinda sexy as long as the body with them is still nice and firm on females anyways.
On men, i don't think they're ugly or gross or anything I just don't think they're specifically attractive.0 -

My husband has had large dark stretch marks on his midsection since the day I met him six years ago and they have never faded. He is also incapable of tanning. They have never bothered me one single bit. Actually makes me feel more comfortable now that I have them too!0 -
I have stretch marks on my thighs really bad. I have noticed though if i see another woman with stretch marks i don't think twice about it but on me i think it's the most horrible thing in the world.
If you want to get rid of them as best you can i have heard good things about mederma stretch mark creme. I bought some but i didn't continue to use it because it's $40 dollars a bottle and i don't have extra money at the moment. I have also heard lotions with vitamin e can help.0 -
Your stretch marks will fade with time ... Most men truly aren't bothered or deterred by stretch marks. I got divorced and had to go thru the dating process after children and never did I have a guy reject me over my stretch marks. Its kind of a shocker after your first baby when your body doesn't bounce back to the way it was ...I've learned to accept mine as part of being a woman .0

im the fat one and have them.. yet my trim, in shape sexxy hubby has them on his arms. When he hit puberty, he went from being about 5'8" tall to 6'4" tall and from about 150 to 240 in about 2.5 months... if that wont give you stretch marks, nothing will!!
It isnt always about being fat! its about where you been , what you did and who you are. Think of it as a road map.. without them, you would be lost!
besides.. stretch marks are sensitive.. and that can be a huge turn on.. on the lower belly0 -
i feel like a major fail right now LOL
change the IMG to lower case img?0 -
I have a very nasty, judgmental side to me but I would never look at someone and judge if they have stretch marks. It is one of those things that everyone has but we isolate ourselves in thinking that it is only us and ours are the worst. In HQ photos you can even see them on the VS girls when they walk down the runway. I was complaining about mine to my boyfriend once and he was legitimately confused because he didn't know what I was talking about. I explained it to him and he was like, "Oh, I have those too, is that another thing girls worry about?" And here I thought they were this disgusting thing that made me unattractive and he didn't even know wtf I was talking about.0

Story time: Last weekend I was on the beach with my friend who is a size zero and a model (literally), anywho she asked what was on my thigh and I told her it was a stretch mark. She went, "Ugh, I hate those. I have them all on my hips."
Moral of the story: Even supermodels have stretch marks, so we should stop freaking out about it.
The End.0 -

lol.. i used to be that model size. if she had to ask what was on your hip, she sure as heck didnt have any. She was saying that to make you feel better. Just honest here..
and if you were at the beach.. you would have seen them on her.0 -

Mine look weird though because my skin is so pale and I did see them, so she did.0 -

Well, stretch marks isn't just from being fat. It's can also be from going through puberty.0 -
It sounds like you are married to a great guy! If he doesn't mind them, then you just need to get past your insecurities surrounding them.
They will fade some, and if they are thin, they will be less noticable after a while. They also look better with a bit of a tan...
I have HORRIBLE stretch marks. They bother me more than anyone else. I have three grown children, and as others have said, I earned the stretch marks. I'm a size two and in great shape. I got stretch marks because I am small and had big babies (I gained 60 lbs with my first, and that's when I earned most of the stretch marks). I think it is also related to the elasticity in your skin. In any case, it can't be changed once they are there.
You have a wonderful baby and husband... Life is good...0 -
I've earned every single one of them....doesn't mean I like them, but we've made friends0
-
Bump I have a bunch of them but I still wear a 2 piece. If there were any tricks on reducing them I would love to know0
-
I hate mine, between kids and too many years of being so huge the ones on my belly are very wide. Worse luck is they look more noticeable as I lose weight. At least they compete with my sagging boobs, skin, cellulite and varicose veins for most unattractive part of my body LOL0
-
I have stretchmarks and I never even had a baby. At least you have a good reason.
If the body looks good, who cares? I sure don't.
And if you do care, Maderma helps a lot. ( I use it)
Woman + hot stomach + stretchmarks = Woman + hot stomach0 -
I have them on my belly and arms.. the belly ones I don't mind as they are going silvery now, but always hated my upper arm ones! I just use them as a motivation to lose weight now!0

:flowerforyou: Some of you ladies are so lucky to have such wonderful, understanding and loving husbands/significant others. Bravo to you and to them0
