Weird Little Habits that Help

I walk in place when I watch tv at night and even add boxing to it. I figure if I can do it with Leslie Sansone, why can't I do it watching Cupcake Wars? At work I get up and jog in place every few hours or so and if I use the bathroom, I make sure it's as far away as possible. I try to run random errands at work one at a time so I am constantly having to get up from my desk.0

Dude, that's nothing. If all I drink is water that's my average. If I have anything else to drink I have to pee every half hour. I would be in great shape if I did that, though my co-workers would think I had lost my mind, haha! TINY BLADDER PEOPLE UNITE!
I used to have a smaller bladder too but I think i have developed a nurses bladder. 5 years on a cardiac floor when I may be lucky to pee once in my 8 hour shift! now I'm at a desk job but I think I must have stretched it out enough that I don't have to go that often0 -
I do 50 jumping jacks every time I use the restroom... strange, but it amounts to about 500 jj's a day, and with almost no forethought.
Anyone else have a strange little habit for health?
Do people not wonder why you are all hot and bothered each time you leave the restroom? ha ha ha ha
Anyone who works in an office...this tip would start some odd rumours!

I lunge all the way down the hall to the bathroom at work. And when I'm waiting for the photocopier to do its thing, I go up and down on my tip toes.0

My little habbit is that I never leave the house without a bottle of water. My kids have developed the same habbit. Drives my husband batty but it's healthy so he can't really justify complaining
You wouldn't believe the amount of TP I go through, but yes... at least 10x/ day I'd say. Maybe more..0 -

I do wall push ups when I go to the bathroom in the morning. (I work from home).
Whenever I go into the kitchen I fill up my water glass.
I too am a proud member of the tiny bladder club!! Although sometimes it has its drawbacks (road trips!). Although I do know all the cleanest and finest bathrooms in LA.0 -
At work, I always use the washroom that is 3 floors up - each time I go - which adds up to a lot of extra stairs to climb :happy:
I also get off the elevator at the 3rd floor and walk up 6 floors to my office each time I enter the building. Not a big calorie burn to do it once, but over the weeks and months, it sure adds up!0 -

And, when I wash my hands I exercise my neck muscles by opening my mouth and raising my lower jaw upward for a count of ten. Helps us middle aged women keep our necks from telling our age!0 -
i weigh my food and log my calories. it's like a curse. i wouldn't wish this on anybody.0

Diet sodas are all chemicals and I've heard bad things about aspartame. I try to avoid it, but it's so very addictive!0 -
I do crunches everytime my co-worker goes to take a smoke break 2 sets of 20, puts me at almost 200 crunches a day 5 days a week. And I dont have to worry about anyone watching me because it's just her and I together0

squats/chair sits depending on how sore i am while brushing my teeth. lol i dance between luls in my circuits to my workout playlist, and usually dance for one song before i work out lol. i consider it my warmups, warmup.0

Even though there is a bathroom right outside my office door, I walk to the other side of the building every time I need a restroom. Since I drink so much water, I pee a LOT! It has added about 2500 steps a day according to my FitBit.
At home, if I'm downstairs, I use the upstairs bathroom. If I'm upstairs, I use the downstairs bathroom. I also run up and down the stairs during commercials.0 -

Whenever I go out to eat, I ask the waiter to put 1/2 in a to go box right away.0 -
Every time I go to the bathroom during the workday, I do 10 squats before going back to my desk.0

I have a bad back and am supposed to do pelvic tilts. Sometimes I'll do the standing version while waiting for the microwave to cook something.0

i tend to make a list of what i need to do that day thats broken down into hour segments and i block of 2 hours to workout. if i don't things don't get done and workouts get skipped. also if my youngest doesn't follow me to the potty i try to do 100 crunches each time.0

At the moment I am doing a 90 minute train commute twice a day to my job, so I sit and squeeze my butt muscles, lift my legs & hold, etc. I try and do it surreptitiously or I might scare my fellow passengers. :laugh: Also go on tip toes if standing at the station / waiting to get off.
In the past I have marched on the spot whilst waiting for the photocopier / done arm exercises etc.
I walk up escalators.

That is SUCH a good idea for eating out!!! I'm doing that from now on...

I suck my abs in while jogging....totally gives my abs an extra work out....I always feel it the next day, especially in the transverse abdominal muscles (I think that is what they are called)all around my waist area.

I work behind the counter in a Visitor Information Center, our counter area is on a one step raised area. A couple of us do counter pushups when we don't have visitor's or calf raises on the edge of the platform, seeing how many we can each do before the next customer comes in the door.0
