Watch out for when it falls out of the sky... it may really harm you then.

And for this very reason, I always always make sure my eyes are closed when I look up.

Why is there not bigger awareness and outrage?

Thank you for sharing this. Im not sure I was aware of this or have ever heard of it before. Will def keep a lookout of this name on the labels of things. Btw, is it labeled or is it like the GMO's where its in it, they just dont have to tell you?

As for the others with snyd and sarcastic remarks, when are you going to realize that just because you dont get sick or fall over dead immediately after ingesting something that it doesnt mean its not bad for you? There is TONS of toxins in our food and everyday living household items that are damaging our health....people just choose to not see it and turn a blind eye and keep believing every single word the FDA says to them.

Sadly you will never see DHMO on a product label.

    You're adorable.

If you really think DHMO is bad for you, just stop using it. It'll be difficult though. It's everywhere.

Is this found in food, exercise equipment, beer or pornography? ... if not, I think I'm safe.

It has been found *on* pornography.

    Ewww!!!

Well, it does appear on product labels. It's just that there are so many different names for it, just like dairy and wheat products. You just need to know what to look for. The relatively small amounts that most of us consume won't have any long-term ill effects on health. It doesn't have a terribly long half-life and we generally will excrete any excess.

You're right, it's there but it's hidden. I see a lot of people on this site advocating for its consumption in large quantities, believe it or not.

Its one of the primary components of acid rain! If it were eliminated we would solve the acid rain problem!

Everyone who drank it eventually died. That's a 100% fatality rate. Scary stuff...

I wanted to mention that my daughters work at summer jobs where the management is very focused on safety, including, coincidentally, the risks involved in DHMO exposure. There have been a few instances at their workplace where a customer has had problems due to their inexperience with DHMO and employees have had to assist them to avoid serious injury or other complications.
It's possible I'm just a bad mom allowing them to work in such a setting, but they have had excellent training and are completely safe, as far as I can tell.

These damn chemicals are invading our lives! First they tell us the air we breath is toxic, then they tell us there is stuff in our food that is bad for us. Now this DHMO stuff is everywhere. I suppose next they will tell us WATER can be bad for you!?!?!

Oh how I long for a simpler time!

My tap water tested positive for DHMO last week. :( I had to move my wife and daughter out to prevent further exposure. :(

In all seriousness this stuff DOES need to be regulated better, and taxed more for corporations.
Some bottle this stuff up for free and then resell it.
Others use this for hydrofracking and then just dump it.

I JUST downloaded an app to alert me when levels of DHMO are in the severe range this time of year. I definitely like to stay inside during those times!

I heard that they add it to diet soft drinks.
No wonder they are so bad for us!
