Week 1 Starting weight: 195.8
So I am going the 2023 weight lost challenge today. I will be eating Keto, Intermittent Fasting, and working out at least 5 days a week. Today has been a great start. I lost 35 pounds last year 222lbs to 187. I have started putting on weight so I am definitely motivated to keep going and getting back on track.

Looking for a fasting buddy for IF and extended fasting
Hi all. I've been doing IF for a while and one 72-hour fast after a cancer diagnosis. I'm committed to fasting but it certainly would be great to give and receive some support to another faster. Please let me know if interested.

Life Changer!
I was recently diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes and I asked my doctor what I could do to lose weight. I was prescribed Ozempic for the next 3 months to take once a week. 2 years ago I started Medical Weight Loss and lost about 40 lbs. long story short, I gained the weight back after some tough losses with loved ones that…

2022 Intermittent Fasting Anyone?
Hi there, I am 80 lbs overweight and just started focusing on keto low carb and intermittent fasting. I have been learning the science by Dr. Jason Fung and also a member of the Diet-Doctors website for the low carb lifestyle. So far, since January 2, 2022 I've lost 13 lbs. I have been doing OMAD during the week and on…

Starting Intermittent Fasting.
Is anyone doing intermittent fasting and it works for them? What are you eating for your first meal? I typically don't eat breakfast as it is, so I thought I'd try this. I haven't been losing weight just not eating breakfast and starting my meals around 12, but I think that's more to what I'm eating the rest of the time.…

Flexible fasting options
Not being able to customize the fasting and eating window is a serious lack of usability for experienced intermittent fasters. I was excited to hear that this app supported intermittent fasting but my protocol is 20:4 or OMAD and not included in the three preset options. I'm looking at paying for my fasting app instead of…

Stop eating after 5:00 p.m.?
Tuesday an interesting study was published. October 04, 2022 Eating Late Increases Hunger, Decreases Calories Burned, and Changes Fat Tissue Obesity afflicts approximately 42 percent of the U.S. adult population and contributes to the onset of chronic diseases, including diabetes, cancer, and other conditions. While…

Challenge, Reflection, and Looking Forward
Mucho Gusto! I started using this app on the sixth, reintroduced myself to my Fitbit yesterday the seventh, and started the Jumpstart your Health Challenge yesterday as well. When I previously tried to use an app to track my calories I found it difficult and burdensome. There was no motivation and I did not see benefit in…

Starting weight loss again - give me some motivation!
I'm starting on a weight loss journey after having a baby. I've just finished breastfeeding after 1 year (yay!). I've put on quite a bit of weight and it's been making me unhappy lately, I'm hoping to lose about 40 pounds overall. Today was day 2 of intermittent fasting (16:8) and calorie counting. Have gone great so far,…

G'Day from Down Under!
I just discovered this site and I love it! I live on Bribie Island in Australia. I am retired and have been off and on diets since I was 8 years old. I have learned a lot about myself and nutrition. When I was 14 I developed my own diet and lost 20 lbs in two weeks! But we all know you can't keep that up. I have set myself…

Continually Improving
Hi. Just started today, am doing a personal continuous improvement project for weight loss for my six sigma green belt class so I can get my certification. So, it’s a must! Been trying for years, did achieve weight loss before but not in a way it will stick. Hopefully from the app and the class I can learn to stick to my…

Can I use the IF feature for weekly 24 hour fasts?
I've just signed up for premium because of the new fasting feature, but was disappointed to see the options available. I like to do a 24 hour fast once a week. Has anyone managed to track this please?

An Apology
I apologize for any of my posts that seem to imply that the way I've found to lose weight, get healthy and not put the weight back on is for everyone. Looking over what I've written, I have to agree that it DOES seem to imply that. I guess after 60 years of yo-yo dieting and gaining more weight afterwards each time to the…

Intermittent fasting support
Hi! I am a 50 year old type 2 diabetic woman. I have done IF before with good results, but I never paid attention to what I was eating when I ate. I'm committing 1/1/23 to doing IF correctly. Friend request me and let's support each other!

Intermittent fasting feature is too limited!
Joined premium when you added intermittent fasting feature, but I am sadly disappointed. Being limited to 24 hour manual fast is not useful. 36-48 hours is the norm for experienced fasters. Additionally, 18-6 is very popular but not an option to choose. Hope there are plans to improve the current version!

IF app does not bridge across two days.
I can start the fast at 9:30 pm, end it the next afternoon at 1:30 - and then - start a new fast that night. That is considered fasting twice in one day and the app can’t handle it! Any workarounds??

Here I go again….
Take….I lost count 😂 Well, fighting epilepsy, celiacs, and long COVID with minor complications since Nov 2020…..I’m a hot weight long failure! So, I came back to MFP after a long sabbatical and saw this intermittent fasting thing. I remember my doctor suggesting I look into a long time ago. Well, now I’m intrigued. I’m…

18:6 Fasting Plan...please add.
I purchased the premium so I could track my fasts. I do a 18:6 plan (as do most people that I know who do IF). This is the plan my doctor suggested for pre-diabetes & weight loss. The myfitnesspal app does not include this plan. Could you please add? Thank you.

LOSING AND KEEPING WEIGHT OFF FOREVER
I truly believe the only way to lose weight and keep it off forever (that's what we want, right?) is to to eat a high protein/low fat diet, similar to KETO, and eat 1-2 meals a day with NO SNACKING. Drink water, unsweet tea or balcak coffee in-between to keep yourself hydrated and do this as a normal routine. I know people…

Best meal split to lose fat?
I've been seeing a lot of conflicting information about how many meals I should be eating a day. I know there is intermittent fasting where I would get 1-2 600 cal meals or Ive read that eating more meals could boost metabolism so maybe 5-6 200 cal meals. What would be best for losing weight

Lost 60 Pounds with 40 to Go!
I started at 270. My doctor classified me as MORBIDLY OBESE and gave me a referral for gastric bypass surgery, and I went for the consultation but after seeing photos of the procedures, I bolted out of the office. The last thing I wanted was to ruin my stomach. I'm already being treated for reflux and have a hiatal hernia…
