Additional questions regarding morning BG levels
I've been testing my blood sugar after meals. I've followed someone's suggestion of testing every 15 minutes to determine when my peak is. What I have determined after only two meals (both between 10 & 20g carbs) is that I do have a small peak of approximately 10mg/dL between 30 & 90 minutes after eating. My pre-meal BG…

Protein and blood sugar?

Low Carb Recipes
thought I'd post a couple low carb recipes I've tried and liked: Mexican Cabbage Soup Yield: 4 servings, each with 9 grams of carbohydrates and 2 grams of fiber, for a total of 7 grams of usable carbs and 24 grams of protein. This is great on a nasty, cold, rainy night! This is not hot, despite the chilies in the canned…

Crazy question....
What would be a recommended snack if you have a MASSIVE calorie burn, and are WAAAAY over on carbs? I pulled a stupid today and didn't take a snack when I went to school, figuring I'd be home in time to eat a "safe" lunch. But, breakfast wore off before I got out of class, and the only thing I could get was a smoothie from…

New and want to share my story
Hi everyone, I joined MFP about 2 weeks ago at the recommendation of an assistant in one of my doctor's offices. I have been a diabetic for 23 years and on insulin for the last 12. They consider me a type 1.5 (since I still make a little insulin). Until I got into my early 30's I was at a normal weight. Over the last 9…

Can I brag a bit?
This is my first post ever but I am so proud of myself. I was diagnosed type 2 January 8 2013. My A1C was 10.3 and my fasting sugar was 216. I think I went home and cried for about a week, then I decided to get healthy for me and my family. So 4 months later I just got my labs back and my A1C is 6 and fasting blood sugar…
